Two Saline County residents have been arrested and charged with capital murder following a fatal shooting in Little Rock early Tuesday morning. Little Rock Police discovered a 44-year-old man dead inside his vehicle from apparent gunshot wounds, launching a homicide investigation that quickly led to the two suspects. Read more below.

The incident occurred on July 14, 2026, when Little Rock Police officers responded to a ShotSpotter alert and a subsequent shooting call for service at 6:09 a.m.
Upon arriving at 4213 W. 10th Street, officers located the victim, identified as 44-year-old Jose Miguel Quiroz-Mata of Little Rock, suffering from gunshot wounds inside the driver’s seat of his vehicle. Medical personnel from MEMS responded and determined that the victim had succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The county coroner took possession of the deceased and transported the body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy. During the initial investigation by homicide detectives and the Crime Scene Search Unit, police developed two suspects: 49-year-old Yudith Cicard Reyes and 22-year-old Luis Felipe Reyes-Isabel. Both suspects reside at the same address in Mabelvale, located in Saline County.
On July 15, both suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Major Crimes Division, where they were read their Miranda rights. According to the incident report, each suspect provided a statement concerning their involvement in the shooting.
Yudith Cicard Reyes and Luis Felipe Reyes-Isabel were both charged with one count of capital murder. Following their statements, they were transported to the Pulaski County Regional Jail without incident. The Little Rock Police Department has notified the victim’s next of kin and states that the homicide investigation remains ongoing.
