The Saline County 911 Board will meet Thursday to address critical infrastructure updates and review new protocols aimed at transforming how local emergency and non-emergency calls are handled.
Board members will gather at the Saline County Office of Emergency Management building to evaluate ongoing equipment upgrades, review state audit data, and discuss a plan to implement 100% quality assurance call tracking through total transcription.
The meeting, scheduled for June 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., will open with standard procedural items, including a roll call to establish a quorum and the approval of minutes from the previous session. Following these opening procedures, the board will pivot to old business, beginning with a status update on the pending installation of new 911 communication equipment designed to modernize local dispatch capabilities.
Additionally, under old business, the board will review the current status of the Arkansas Crime Information Center (ACIC) audit report. The audit serves as a metric for tracking state-mandated compliance and ensuring the integrity of law enforcement data networks used throughout Saline County.
New business will feature a detailed presentation regarding non-emergency call processing. This discussion will highlight newly prepared protocols, operational data, and specific handling procedures intended to streamline non-emergency lines and keep primary emergency channels clear.
As part of this operational shift, the board will deliberate on implementing a system for the complete transcription of all inbound calls. According to the agenda, the objective of the transcription initiative is to establish a 100% Quality Assurance (QA) standard across all public safety communication services.
Before adjournment, the board will handle announcements and officially schedule its next quarterly session. The subsequent meeting is tentatively set for Thursday, September 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at the Office of Emergency Management.
