The Saline County Public Works & Safety Committee and Finance Committee will meet Monday, May 4, 2026, at the Saline County Courthouse to discuss several items, including funding for election worker stipends.
The meetings are scheduled to begin at 6:00 p.m. in Courtroom #3 at the Saline County Courthouse in Benton.
During the Public Works & Safety Committee portion, members are expected to approve previous meeting minutes and consider a proclamation recognizing Arkansas Foster Care Month. Additional items may be added, along with other business brought before the committee.
The Finance Committee will also review minutes and consider an ordinance to appropriate funds received from the Arkansas State Board of Election Commissioners. The funds would provide supplemental stipends to certain election workers for 2026, including those who completed required training and testing.
According to the ordinance, the county received $450 from the state to help cover bonuses for election-related duties. The proposal includes allocating the funds within the county’s general fund and covering associated employer costs such as Social Security and retirement contributions.
The agenda follows discussions from the committees’ April 6 meeting, where members considered a range of issues including animal control regulations, adoption of a county flag, library millage adjustments, and multiple budget amendments.
Residents may attend the meeting in person at the courthouse at 200 N. Main Street in downtown Benton, AR.
