Toddler StorytimeDate: Tuesday, May 13, 2025 Join Mrs. Wendy for this fun, active storytime designed just for toddlers. We will enjoy rhymes, flannel stories, songs, books, and instruments. After storytime, we will enjoy some play time together. This storytime is designed for children 3 & under, but all children are welcome.
Library Card ShufflersDate: Tuesday, May 13, 2025 Come play cards with us. We play all kinds of card games like Canasta, Hand and Foot, Hearts, Spades, Rummy, and more. Bring some friends along or just come and make new ones. No prior gameplay experience needed – we are always happy to teach a new player.

Anime ClubDate: Tuesday, May 13, 2025 Love anime? Join the club! Join us every Tuesday to watch anime, discuss our favorite manga, and maybe do a themed craft or two! (And sometimes there are snacks.) This club is aimed at ages 13-18, and the teens decide what we watch from a list of screened episodes. We typically watch the first two episodes of a new anime each week. But if there is enough interest, we might watch more episodes of a show. If you would like to recommend an anime to watch, please do! The first two episodes will be screened and, if it passes reviews, added to the watch list. Please note: most content we watch will be rated 14+ or younger (using the age ratings on Crunchyroll).

The Pencil PackDate: Thursday, May 15, 2025 Kids 4th – 7th grade can learn about journalism and help create content for our very own tween library newspaper. Interested in journalism, writing, drawing, or photography? Come join the Pencil Pack! Add your spark to our monthly library newspaper at this journalism club for beginners. We’ll learn the basics of writing a good article and create content to be published in our monthly library newspaper just for kids. Rising StarsDate: Friday, May 16, 2025 Does your child love to act or want to start acting but does not know where to begin? The Saline County Library is hosting an acting course. We will go over everything your child needs to learn to start acting. We will also put on a play at the end of the programming year in May. The class will be held weekly from 10-11 at the main library in Benton. Registration is required for this event.

Makerspace Adult ShowcaseDate: Saturday, May 17, 2025 Explore the tools in our Makerspace at our Makerspace Adult Showcase. Join us for a guided project that you can bring home with you! For this month’s project, we will learn how to create beautiful diamond art. After you learn how to use these Makerspace tools, feel free to come make more during our Makerspace open hours! We will have open hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 pm – 5:30 pm and on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from 1:00 pm – 3:30 pm. Note: This Saturday session is one of two Makerspace Adult Showcase sessions featuring the same project, so you can pick which time is most convienent for you; the second session will take place on the 4th Wednesday of the month.
Pet Adoption/Donation Drive!Date: Saturday, May 17, 2025 Benton Animal Services needs our help! There are good animals in need of loving homes right here in town! From young pups or kittens to senior dogs and cats, they all need a stable home with love and affection. If adoption isn’t an option for you, but you still want to help, consider donations of pet food, toys, beds, and blankets! Since they are waiving the regular adoption fees, donations and adoptions can help Benton Animal Services save more animals in need! Also, if you enjoy training pets, consider fostering to help improve an animals odds at adoption and a better life!
Outdoor Movie Night – Summer Reading Challenge EditionDate: Saturday, May 17, 2025 Get ready for the Summer Reading Challenge and enjoy an SCL movie night featuring prizes, snacks, and an outdoor movie experience!
