UPDATE DEC 9, 2025 (afternoon)
One of the victims in the State of Arkansas vs Tim Steppach case has come forward to tell some of her story. Now that Steppach has been convicted of 3 counts of “Endangerment of the Welfare of a Minor in the 2nd Degree,” Alexy Torres, tells some of her testimony. She asked MySaline to share the video.
Torres says she was 15 years old when she came to work for Tim’s Tavern, the restaurant that Steppach owns. She is now age 17 and preparing to graduate high school. She stated in a live video on her personal Facebook account that Steppach approached her about working for him, after he met her at a karaoke night a the restaurant. She said she wanted to work there because he presented as “happy go lucky,” but that his demeanor changed to becoming angry after she was employed there.
Alexy also stated that Steppach told her, “If there’s any older guys or if there’s anyone being creepy towards me to let him know cuz he’ll handle it.” She said that later, he was the one who started asking inappropriate questions. As a young person in his employ, she said she answered with an “awkward laugh” and that she couldn’t believe he was asking her those things.
What things? She say in the video, but implied that there might be more litigation coming. Torres said, “I would go into detail about that, but there’s more things going on behind the scenes right now.”
What she did say is that Steppach’s behavior escalated to include, “touching, rubbing up against me,” and “grinding on me.”
For the rest of her story, watch the video and/or read the transcript of it below.
0:00 Not really sure how to start this. Never been live whenever it comes to stuff like this. Um, let’s see. Trying to figure out how I can share this. Sorry if you could hear my dogs in the background. They’re a bit interesting. Um, if you could share this or just anything, try and get a bit more public eye. Um, I would very much appreciate that. I don’t know what my dog is doing. Hey, sorry.
1:03 Um, I am Alexi Torres. I am 17 years old. I graduate next week. That’s currently what I’m doing. It’s currently what I’m doing. Um, doing my grad invites for famous people. I saw people do that. So, But two years ago, I started working at the tavern. Um, and a lot of stuff went down obviously. Um, but I I was the first minor to start working there whenever all of this happened. Um, sorry, I’m trying to find something.
2:00 And it started out whenever I was just going there for karaoke and just and just trying to find my first job. He like as everyone else if you’ve met him, he puts on this front and he’s just really happy golucky. Um really cool. I mean you would say he So he asked me if I wanted to start working there and I was like heck yeah cuz I was 15. I was obviously broke. I mean come on. And then I started working there and it’s like a switch flipped. He became angry. Like he was angry all of
3:01 the time, whether it was towards his employees, his wife at the time. like I I’m not really sure what was going on there, but it was not the same person that had hired me. Um, and let me just say I was scared. I was really scared of him, what he could do. Um, I mean all of it cuz I didn’t know what he was capable of. If he was capable of doing the things that he already did and was continuing to do and had done in the past, how did I know what he was going to do now? So, it took a while for me to speak up. Um, I was working there from August
4:03 to I think the end of October. Uh, he started out with just saying that if there’s any older guys or if there’s any anyone being creepy towards me to let him know cuz he’ll handle it. How ironic. Uh, and that he’ll always protect me, stuff like that, cuz he has kids. Um, I mean, let let that sink in. So, whenever all that first started happening, I was like, you know, maybe maybe it’s just a coincidence. But then he started asking inappropriate questions. Um, and I would go into detail about that, but there’s more things going on behind the scenes right now. Um, you would start asking inappropriate questions.
5:02 And it was the kind of questions that you don’t know how to answer without just the awkward uncomfortable laugh. Like I remember we were sitting I think it was my first or second day. We were sitting in front of the beer cooler and he was asking me certain questions and I was just like no way you just asked me that. And it would continue on to touching um rubbing up against me, grinding on me. Um and it it just kept evolving from there. Um,
6:02 like what he did to me was awful, but what he did to my coworker and what he did to other people and the people that haven’t spoken out against him. I mean, I was not his first victim, and I know, like, I know for sure I’m not going to be his last. Um, I mean, all of this stuff that has happened, I I find it so insane. How how can you have this many people like obviously advocating for you and believing you and everything, but there’s always going to be those people that are obviously on the opposite side
7:02 of that. I mean, oh, obviously I understand it because it’s part of life, but it it shouldn’t be. I’m still a kid. Like, even right now, I’m still a kid. I was a kid whenever he first done this to me. My coworker, she was absolutely a kid. I mean his own his own wife, she was still a kid. I mean, he has this pattern. And it’s so insane to me that nobody else has caught like caught on
8:00 I mean, I say that, but it took me a second. But I mean, it I’m at a loss for words. How How can someone do these things and think, “Yeah, that’s okay.” and still try and think somewhere in their head that this is a normal thing. This is okay because what he did was most certainly not okay. Um I mean at the protest whenever we had gone to the protest you can see my sign over here. It’s a bit ghetto, but it’s okay. Um, I was shaking. I was crying whenever we first got out of the car. And it’s not
9:00 because I was necessarily scared to go out there and speak up against him again, but the fact that it brought up all of those old feelings. I mean, they never went away, but whenever you’re back at the place that those things happened, it definitely like makes it a lot heavier on your chest. So, I got there, talked to Little Rock Hood News and Aaron. They are so sweet and I can thank them a thousand times for the support. I mean, it’s it’s insane. And I know I’ve said that a lot, but I feel like that that’s the first word that I think of whenever I talk about this or I think about it. I’m like,
10:01 this is so I mean, it’s crazy to me. None of this would have happened if if I didn’t speak out. And I mean, yeah, there’s still not any justice being served, but just knowing that I have an army of people behind me and behind all the other victims, the ones who couldn’t speak out. Um, it it means a lot. I’m I’m sort of at a loss for words of what to say. Never done this before. Never had to do this before. Um if you have any questions or
11:00 like anything, feel free to ask. I think there’s 13 people on here right now. I’m not very good with like public speaking, especially whenever it comes to stuff like this. Um, but please share, please help get my voice out. And before everything had been I guess whatever before he pleaded no contest uh I had wrote an essay like for class we were doing a research project. I wrote an essay and it was about the lack of jail time that sexual abusers get. more importantly pedophiles. Um, and then all of this happened. I was like,
12:02 I’m I’m going to be public. I want to be able to talk about this. I want to be able to speak out about it. I mean, it it shouldn’t have had to be like this um for anyone involved. But it is. So yeah, I’m I’m really awkward whenever it comes to this kind of stuff cuz like I said, I never thought I’d have to be doing this. Um whenever we were out there at the protest, people kept telling me like how strong I am and how proud of me, everything. And I was like, “Thanks.” But deep down I was like, This sucks because no matter how much support or how much I know people love me or
13:00 believe me or anything, the things that he did has an ongoing effect on me. Like even to this day it has been over two years. And it I mean that effect is more than just deep down it it’s a part of my everyday life. I’m always reminded of it. Um especially with everything going on in the public. Um, I mean, it’s constantly circulating and I love that. I do. Like, this is what I wanted. This is why I spoke out. I wanted awareness. I wanted support. I I wanted to be heard. But, I mean, it sucks that any of this even had to happen in the first place.
14:02 So, yeah. Let me see. I’m not really sure how to work this very well, but thank y’all. That was almost bad. Um, thank you. I mean, it it’s easier said than done to come on here and talk about this stuff. I mean, whenever all this happened, I thought it was just going to be another normal day, but they’re like, “No contest.” I’m like, “Oh, no.” There went literally all of the stuff I had
15:01 been working for. I mean, I’ve been working so hard to not let it affect me because I mean, it’s it’s heavy to hold anyone that has been through I mean, anything like this, it it sucks. It really does. So, not really sure if what I’m saying is making sense, but it’s it’s hard to comprehend what’s going on in my head. And to say it out loud in a way where there won’t be 10 times more slander for anybody involved. So, oh, hey, mom. Um,
16:00 but just being able to get my voice out there and be heard and all the in between, it means a lot to have all the support from everybody. Uh cuz it definitely was a hard decision to go and speak up about it, to go out and be in the public eye and having people know, oh, that’s the girl that was molested at Tims. I mean, it’s it’s not what you want people to think of you whenever they see you. It’s it’s a really like yeah it’s hard but thank you but it has such an emotional toll.
17:05 It’s crazy what one person’s actions can do and impact you for years, for the rest of your life even. Because I mean, even though it’s been 2 years, every time I hear his name, every time I drive past his restaurant, anytime anything happens that pertains to him, it’s like a fresh wound again. And then seeing the people asking, “Well, why why did you work there in the first place?” or why didn’t you say anything sooner? I’m like, if that was you in that position, you would have been scared to death. Why do you think other people don’t speak out about this? It It sucks. It really does.
18:04 Thank you. I mean, it really does. And I mean, but I feel like the lack of I mean, injustice has really taken a toll on everybody’s mental health that’s been involved. Um, whenever I first heard about it, I didn’t want to get out of bed. It It was awful hearing that the person who has quite literally ruined a part of your life.
19:00 It just get out scotfree. It really takes a toll. Like I wish there was more I could say to describe how I feel and describe what happened, but like I said, there’s stuff going on behind the scenes and there’s only so much I can say without breaking down on live. So, I just want to say thank you for everybody who is on here right now and everybody who has been supporting me and supporting all of these other victims. And I will preach this. I will scream this from the rooftops. I was not the
20:01 first victim of Tim. And I know I know for a fact I’m not going to be the last. So thank you. So if you can share anything like if you could take anything away from this, it’s be careful who you’re around. Like cuz you never know who someone is. And I never thought that at 15 I would have to figure that out from someone who was supposed to take care of me at my job place. It Thank you. It’s like I’ve been saying it’s insane.
21:07 I had Thank you. I had made I think probably 15 videos of me trying to trying to talk about this and I was going to post it, but every time I would talk about it, I wouldn’t I wouldn’t be able to say anything. Thank you everyone on here and everyone commenting. Thank you so much. I mean I shouldn’t have to have little bullet points on what to say to be able to get just a little bit of justice or awareness or anything.
22:00 I I shouldn’t have to. And to anyone else who has been there, I mean, I’m from the bottom of my heart, I am so sorry. Even if it like if it wasn’t him, if it wasn’t the person you thought you could trust, anything like I am so sorry because I mean in my case, I was a child. I still am a child. Haven’t even graduated high school. I don’t graduate till next week. And this has been going on for so long. And yeah, you can hide how you feel about it and you can push it deep down like how I have been, but it comes back up and it feels 10 times worse. So,
23:02 thank you to everyone. this. So, to sort of go over what happened, like me personally, I sort of went over this already, but there’s a lot more people in here than there were earlier. Um, I first started working there. Well, let me rewind a little bit more. We had heard about this place because they had some they had some good food and they had karaoke and me I’m a singer. I love singing. So I was like, “Okay, we we should go do this. It’s going to be fun. Um, give us something to do.” And we ain’t going out of there. Sorry, I’m trying to read this. Okay, thank you. Um, gone out there thinking that this was just going to be something
24:03 maybe happen once a week, go have fun, and he had offered me a job. So, obviously, as a 15-year-old, you’re like, “Oh, yeah, because I’m 15.” Um, I go walk around Target. There’s like a million things I want. So, I want money. So, I get the job. I start working. Everything’s fine. And whenever he had first offered me the job, he said this in front of my mom too that um that if there is anyone creepy, if there’s anyone who makes you uncomfortable, I’m going to protect you and and I’m not going to let anything happen. Basically, I don’t know what my dog is doing, so disregard that. Sorry.
25:02 Um, I mean, just from that statement, how how ironic is that? Like, come on. You’re going to tell me you’re not going to let anything happen with these creepy, weird, whatever people, but you were that person. I mean, it it doesn’t make sense. So started working there. I think it was my first or second day we were he was showing me how to stop the beer cooler and he started asking me inappropriate questions and not just like, “Oh, do you have a boyfriend?” Like it was it was rough. It made me uncomfortable. Like if you’ve ever had someone ask you like a really uncomfortable question and you’re just like you can’t do anything but sort of just awkwardly laugh about it. Sort of laugh it off cuz you’re like there’s
26:00 no way that just happened. That’s how I was feeling in that moment. like the the things he would ask me. I you you got to ask your own child that exactly. Um sorry I I get really sidetracked. I see the comments and then in my head I’m like, “Oh, squirrel.” So he started touching, rubbing up on me, grinding on me. Like, yeah, it was it was awful. But what also happened to the other victims of Tim?
27:01 Imagine that, but 10 times worse. I would like to say I had it the worst out of all, but that’s not what happened. Um, and even with what happened to me, like even that took a toll. Like it was awful and it still is. Uh, I think the whole reason that, well, I don’t think the whole reason that I decided to even speak out is because knowing that there were people before me and that if I didn’t say anything, there was absolutely going to be people after me. Uh, I think that had to be one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make.
28:01 Like, do I completely tear like not tear myself down, but talk about something so personal that has happened to me and hope something comes of it. And with everything that has come of it. Um, even the non-guilty verdict just it it sucks. It really does. Um, like I get to these points in the live and I’m like, what else do I say? But then I think about it and I’m like, there’s so much I could say. I think that’s the part that is really hitting
29:01 me right here. Like there’s so much I could say. So, I’m going to get back to getting my graduation invites ready because I have a lot to do. I mean, this is literally just some of it. So, I’m going to get back to that. Thank you everyone. like thank you so much for just staying and watching and I mean everything. Thank you. Please share this comment anything. I mean just being able to get only my voice out like that it means a lot. Thank you.

UPDATE DEC 9, 2025 (morning)
Around midnight on Monday night Dec 8, the Tim’s Tavern Facebook account published a lengthy statement regarding owner Tim Steppach’s recent criminal charges, what he was actually convicted on, and some assertions about the three victims, prosecutor, protesters, and the local media.
MySaline doesn’t typically interview or tell the story from someone who has been convicted of a crime, but also those people aren’t typically business owners in town, with protestors in front of that business for days. Since we have not interviewed Steppach, and his statement seems to indicate that he would have wanted to speak, we are publishing his full statement here.
Read the full statement below in red.
Keep in mind that these are the restaurant’s statements and opinions:
Dear Tim’s Tavern friends, family, and followers. We have decided to end this little social experiment and put out a statement because you all deserve one. Tim has, and continues to, and will continue to maintain his innocence of any and all of the lies, slander, and crimes he’s been accused of. He did not plead guilty to anything nor will he ever to anything. Why, you may ask? He is innocent. The prosecutor told you so in so many words, and could have done a lot better job explaining, I think we can all agree on that. We will help you a little more. They were lying! The accusers gave statements. Then they gave more statements. Then they gave even more statements. All along the way, from their very beginning statements, there were lies, and more lies and more lies. These came back to haunt them because the prosecutor had to drop all of the original misdemeanor sexual assault charges as well as the rape and burglary felony charge which was one of the first story changes against Tim by the accusers. Why? The evidence or better yet, lack of evidence proved him innocent of all of those charges. That as well as the changes to the statements and inconsistencies of all of the ‘victims’ statements forced them to lower the charges. I hate to use the word victims in regards to these people because I believe their actions do a disservice to actual victims which absolutely deserve to be heard!!
All of you have based your collective opinions on those statements. Why? Because those are the only statements that have been made public. So if you are making your judgments based on those alone and/or the overzealous, yet shoddy detective work, then it’s easy to see why you may think the way you do. But if you’d like to open your mind to the actual facts of a case, you may come to another, more clear, and intelligent, fact driven conclusion. That would actually take effort on your part though and we realize some of you are fine going after low hanging fruit on social media and even our wonderfully gifted local media who have as much credibility as tabloid journalists at this point. You have heard nothing from Tim because he was obviously in the middle of legal proceedings and was discouraged by his legal team from releasing any statements to the media or anyone else until all legal pursuits are finished. On both sides. In fact the only reason he took a plea deal on the counts the prosecution lowered to acceptable terms is there is zero chance in his opinion of receiving a fair trial in this day and age in this small town. If you doubt this, look at the uproar that has happened. People don’t have all of the facts of the case, yet the trial had already been settled in the court of public opinion, thanks to social media as well as local “media”. None of which have any journalistic integrity nor any other kind of integrity! How many times did they interview Tim or any of his witnesses? That would be zero. How many times did the police interview Tim or his witnesses? Zero. How many times did the prosecutor interview Tim and his witnesses? Zero. We did send them evidence that they were lying, but they still chose to drag it out two years despite having this evidence. So you all have made up your minds and opinions, based on lies, other people’s opinions, or at the very least, not having all of the facts in the case. That’s the kind of jury pool anyone would want to trust your life to, right? And that is the main reason for the plea bargain from our side. What would you do?
Tim would like to thank all of his supporters, for the prayers, thoughts, business, and love poured out these last two years. And to all that reserved judgment until the actual facts come out, you are still welcome here. As for the rest of you, well it’s still a free country so keep being you. Because everyone has the right to an opinion, no matter how ignorant it may be. God bless you! We’ll be praying for all of you.

He would have had a review on July 14th, and a Jury Trial from July 22nd-24th, but we’ll get to what happened instead. Read more below, including
1. Who was subpoenaed,
2. A change of attorney,
3. A splitting of the charges,

Matthew Kuntz, Andrea Cox, Taylor Sharpe, F.P., Stephanie Holiman, Bryana Hoffman, K.F., A.T., and Abigaile Van Cleave.
2. CHANGING ATTORNEY
The start of three days of trial would have been on Tuesday, July 22nd, 2025 – however, on July 17th, Steppach’s attorney filed a motion to withdraw as counsel.
Court documents stated that there was a conversation between the defendant, Mr. Steppach, and his attorney, James Ray Baxter, whereupon the Steppach said Baxter hadn’t been honest with him. Baxter stated in a letter to the court that it was because this lack of trust that he wished to be relieved from the case. Circuit Judge Josh Farmer approved that request. There is no update as of this writing regarding what legal representation Steppach will have going forward.

(Above) A letter from Attorney James Ray Baxter, of Benton Arkansas, written to Circuit Judge Josh Farmer.
3. SPLITTING UP THE CHARGES
Before the attorney, Mr. Baxter, ended representation of Mr. Steppach’s case, he filed a “Motion to Sever Offenses.” This document explained that the two charges of 2nd Degree Sexual Assault were different in nature from each other, and that the three charges of 4th Degree Sexual Assault were different in nature from the first two charges. Part of that decision for the request was due to some charges not carrying a “mens rea,” which is criminal intent, according to the court files.
4. NEW TRIAL DATE
After these events happening prior to the trial getting started, Judge Farmer ordered the jury trial moved to a future date. It is now set for December 2nd through 4th, 2025.

(Above) Circuit Judge Josh Farmer ordered the Jury Trial be moved to Dec. 2-4, 2025. Just FYI, in section D, the abbreviation “STTT” means the right to a speedy trial. Read more about that at this link.
