Multiple public safety agencies across Saline County will conduct their annual active shooter training over the next two weeks at Pine Haven Elementary School in Bauxite.
Local officials advise residents that the exercises will bring an increased presence of first responders and simulated emergency sounds to the area. Read more below. 👇
The joint training exercises will take place from June 22 – 25, and continue the following week from June 29 – July 2. Personnel will train throughout the day Monday through Thursday both weeks, with daily activities concluding at approximately 5 p.m.
The Saline County Office of Emergency Management, Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Bryant Police Department, Bauxite Marshal’s Office, local fire departments, and Pafford Medical Services are among the participating entities.
Organizers designed the collaborative drills to ensure local first responders can effectively coordinate during critical incidents.
People living or traveling near Pine Haven Elementary School may notice emergency lights, sirens, loud bangs and simulated screams during the scheduled hours.
Officials emphasize that these elements are part of the controlled, planned exercise and should not cause alarm.
Authorities ask community members to call 911 immediately if they observe any suspicious behavior or emergency incidents that appear unrelated to the ongoing training sessions.
