Get ready to skate this winter. Benton Parks and Recreation will open their skating rink for the season, beginning Sunday, November 30th at the Downtown Benton Farmers Market, after the tree lighting in Owens-Mooney Park.

General admission is FREE this year, thanks to a sponsorship from Everett Buick GMC. Also this year you do not need to make reservations – unless you’re renting the rink for a private group.

The rink is located at the corner of Main and Ashley Streets. 

The rink will be open December 1st-31st except for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There will be a selection of ice skates available for use, or you can bring your own.

RENTAL FOR GROUPS:

General admission is free and reservations are not required. However, you must reserve to rent the rink for groups. It’s $150 and a maximum of 48 skaters. The available times are each 90-minute blocks as listed below:

TUESDAYS

THURSDAYS

• 10AM, Noon, 2PM

SATURDAYS

• 10AM, Noon

RULES:

• Skating in a manner that endangers or interferes with other skaters is prohibited. This includes roughness, excessive speeding or weaving.

• No tag or games of any kind are permitted on or off the ice.

• No one is permitted on the ice without skates.

• Exits are to be kept clear at all times in case of an emergency.

• Eating or drinking is not permitted on the ice.

• Please skate counter-clockwise unless directed otherwise.

• Please do not sit on, lean over, or leave articles on the dasher boards.

• Deposit trash in the designated containers.

• Dogs are to be on a leash at all times while at the Farmers Market, no pets allowed on the ice.

• The Rink is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

• Decorations need to be approved by the onsite manager on the day of the event.

• Patrons must clean up after their event has concluded.

• Alcohol and drugs are strictly prohibited.

• Merchandising is not permitted without written consent from the Benton Parks and Recreation Director
