Learn about Amish Friendship Bread at the Library Nov 4th
BRYANT, Ark. — The Saline County Library will host an in-person baking workshop on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, teaching adult participants how to cultivate, maintain, and share Amish Friendship Bread starter. The hands-on class will take place at the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library branch in Bryant. Read more below.
The workshop is scheduled from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the meeting room at the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library, located at 201 Prickett Rd. in Bryant.
Organized by Jennifer Watson, the session will guide attendees through creating their own bread starter mixture. After taking the starter home, participants will nurture the culture over a 10-day period, after which it will be ready to bake into bread and yield additional starter portions to pass along to friends, family, and neighbors.
The event is tailored for adult patrons ages 18 and older. While library programs are free to attend, registration is required to reserve a seat by submitting a name and email address through the Saline County Library online calendar system.
