A growing network of nonprofits, businesses, and social service organizations is working together in Saline County to better support individuals and families in need.
Saline County Cares meets on the second Wednesdays at 8:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Benton. The meetings are open to anyone interested in community outreach or support services.
The group is made up primarily of nonprofit organizations, along with local institutions, businesses and individuals, all focused on improving access to services and strengthening support systems across the county.
Organizers say the goal is to share resources, coordinate efforts, and reduce duplication of services, while building stronger connections among those serving the community.
Saline County Cares focuses on providing holistic support while working to remove the stigma often associated with poverty.
The group emphasizes:
- Treating individuals with dignity and respect
- Offering sustainable, long-term solutions
- Building meaningful relationships with those they serve
- Empowering individuals to achieve success on their own terms
Members also highlight the importance of a person-centered approach, where individuals and families play an active role in shaping their own outcomes.
Leaders say the collaboration is rooted in the belief that community organizations are more effective when working together rather than independently.
By bringing multiple groups to the same table, Saline County Cares aims to create a unified voice for addressing local needs, while helping transform services and improve quality of life across the area.
Those interested in attending a meeting or learning more about the group are encouraged to participate, regardless of organizational affiliation. For more info, visit https://www.facebook.com/salinecountycares or email [email protected].
