Saline County government seeks a better animal control ordinance, and a committee has formed to do something about it. Read more below.
The Animal Control Ordinance Committee will meet for the second time on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. in Courtroom #2 at the Saline County Courthouse.
This temporary committee was formed to review Saline County’s current Animal Control Ordinance adopted in 2010. It consists of the following members:
- Tricia Powers, Bryant Animal Control Director
- Justice of the Peace Rick Bellinger
- Justice of the Peace Carlton Billingsley
- Justice of the Peace CJ Engel
- Justice of the Peace Jim Whitley
- Justice of the Peace Wilson Hatcher
- Saline County Prosecutor Chris Walton
- Saline County Deputy Peter Powell
- Ann Sanders, Humane Society of Saline County Director
- Terry Parsons, Benton Animal Control Director
- Zach McCauley, McCauley Services (including animal/pest control)
- Saline County Judge Matt Brumley
The objective of the committee is to encourage healthy discussion and ultimately provide a recommendation to the Saline County Public Safety Committee for consideration.
