MySaline started posting a “Picture of the Day” on our social media, but we thought it would be a good idea to put it on the website too, so followers can search the archive. If you want to submit a picture, email it to [email protected]! You can also browse the Picture of the Day archives at www.mysaline.com/picture.
Today’s picture is from John Cohen of Sardis. He posted this picture to social media with the caption, “Only in Sardis does a tree frog take up residence in a birdhouse shaped like a frog !!!” (click image to view full size)
Here’s a bonus picture of the tree frog in a frog in a tree:
I’m glad it he/she found a good home since getting displaced by some brain-dead county official that decided the shoe tree needed to be cut down.
Hey Brian, thanks for your comment. I just wanted to direct you to an article where we covered the thing with the Sardis Shoe Tree getting removed. I hated to see it go too, but it was dead and hollow inside and had become a hazard, as it could have fallen. It was in the right of way, so the county was responsible for taking care of the matter. I talked to both sides extensively about it. I don’t think anyone wanted it cut, but it was falling apart already, so you have to do what you have to do to keep the community safe.
