Suellen (Citty) Poole

Suellen Poole age 86, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on September 29, 2025. May the Lord bless and keep her.
Suellen was born on September 21, 1939 to Quentin W. and Lottie V. Citty in Haworth, Oklahoma. At the age of eighteen she married Wesley E. Poole, age twenty, on October 12, 1957, at the Church of Christ in DeQueen, Arkansas.
Suellen was a devoted Christian wife and mother. She was dedicated to making a wonderful life for her immediate and extended family.
For a time she was a bank teller for the Benton State Bank. Years later she followed her husband’s job opportunities with Reynolds Metals to Jamaica and Australia.
Later in life, she enrolled at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Teaching Kindergarten-6th Grade Elementary. In teaching, Suellen aspired to influence and better the lives of the children. She taught at the Forrest Park Elementary of the Pine Bluff District until retiring. Also one of her favorite hymnals was “How Great Thou Art.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Lyndel Q. Citty, and her first grandchild, Bradley Poole.
She is survived by devoted husband, Wesley E. Poole, son Tony E. Poole and wife Joni G. Poole, granddaughter, Mallory J. (Karl) Sillavan, son Gary L. Poole and wife Jennifer L. Poole, grandson, Blake (Stephanie) Poole, granddaughter, Shelby L. (Lane) Shaw, great-grandchildren, Faith M., Olivia G., and Emmett S. Poole, Hattie M. Shaw, and sister, Betty J. Harrison.
A graveside service at the Pinecrest Memorial Park’s Garden of the Cross in Alexander, Arkansas will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 2, 2025.
Minister will be Michael Cox, from the 70 West Church of Christ in Hot Springs, AR. He will perform the eulogy.
