This production is based on The Kensington Stories by Sally Benson and the MGM motion picture “Meet Me In St. Louis.” The book of the musical is by Hugh Wheeler. The songs are by Martin & Blane published by EMI Feist Catalog, Inc., produced for the Broadway stage by Brickhill-Burke Productions, Christopher Seabrooke and EPI Products™
STORY
It is the summer of 1903, and everyone in the Smith family eagerly anticipates the opening of the 1904 World’s Fair. Over the course of a year, the family’s mutual respect, tempered with good-natured humor, helps them through romance, opportunity, and heartbreaks.
The musical includes seven of the best-loved songs from the film, plus ten additional Martin and Blane songs written specially for the stage. Memorable musical numbers include:

The audition dates are:
Saturday, October 19th at 10:00 a.m. until Noon, and
Sunday, October 20th at 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
LOCATION
First United Methodist Church choir room, 200 N Market Street, Benton, AR 72015.
Enter through the side door on West Conway Street across from the Benton School District Administration building.
ROLES
The cast includes 17 speaking parts (ages 16 and up) and a small chorus of 3 boys and 3 girls (ages 10 & up).
PROCESS
Who –
Auditions are an open call.
Timing –
Arrive no later than 15 minutes before end time.

Commitment –
You MUST be available for ALL performances (Dec 5th – 8th and Dec 12th – 15th) and tech week rehearsals on (Nov 29th – Dec 4th).
Rehearsals will begin around November 4th. A formal rehearsal schedule will be provided once a calendar can be assembled including conflicts.
Audition Day –
Wear appropriate attire and shoes in case you are asked to do a basic choreography/movement audition or a cold read.
Prepare one song of your choice and come with a way to play your music.
