September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the Saline County Library is turning its library cards into “superpowered” discount passes for cardholders. Through the “Power of the Card” campaign, residents can access exclusive discounts at dozens of local businesses, attend a lineup of free events, and borrow unconventional items like tools, fishing poles, and cake pans for free all year long. The Saline County Library’s annual “Power of the Card” promotion has expanded this year. By partnering with four other central Arkansas library systems—the Central Arkansas Library System (CALS), the North Little Rock Public Library, the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Library System, and the Garland County Library—cardholders can secure discounts at participating establishments across the entire region throughout September.

A library card unlocks significant savings at dozens of businesses from September 1 through September 30, 2026. Some of the featured local offers include:
- Food & Dining: Papa John’s Pizza (50% off regular menu priced pizzas with the code SEPT50), Eat My Catfish (10% off), Whole Hog Cafe in Bryant (10% off purchases of $15 or more), Pasta J’s (12% off), Salem Dairy Bar (10% off), Larry’s Pizza (free drink with purchase in Bryant, East End, and Haskell), and Tacos 4 Life (free queso with purchase).

How to Register for a Free Card
Signing up for a library card is simple and free. Residents can apply online at the library’s website or in person by visiting any branch. To register, applicants must provide a photo ID and proof of a current Saline County address (or proof of local employment or school enrollment for non-residents). Additionally, a reciprocal agreement allows citizens of Cleveland, Dallas, Garland, Grant, and Hot Spring counties to register for a Saline County Library card at no cost.
