The Saline Symphony Orchestra invites musicians in Saline County and surrounding areas to join their Fall 2022 semester on Sunday, September 11th. The first two rehearsals of each semester are open for prospective musicians to join.
The Orchestra does not use a formal audition process; instead, prospective members are invited to sit in rehearsals. Placement within the section will be determined by the section leader, concertmaster, and conductor to maintain the best balance and blend of the group.
Come to an informal meet & greet before the first rehearsal to get to know your fellow musicians. Info coming on the SSO Facebook page.
The orchestra welcomes musicians who are returning to their love of music, regardless of age, but students must be in high-school to participate. Prospective members should be proficient enough to play music through a Grade 4 difficulty level. Available seats within sections will be filled based on availability and on an approval basis. There will also be a sub list when sections are full.
All rehearsals are held at one of the Bryant School District campus band rooms and rehearsal locations will be announced at the beginning of each semester.
There is an annual fee of $40 per musician, per season to help offset music costs and other items. Students are provided seats in the orchestra on a scholarship basis and must be referred by an instructor to be eligible for a scholarship seat.
