The EMpact One Foundation is teaming up with Widow’s Sons Motorcycle Club and Everett Buick GMC for a community sporting equipment drive on Saturday, October 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Everett Buick GMC in Benton.

Donations: New and gently used sporting equipment and monetary donations
Plus: Hot dogs and chips available for purchase
The goal is simple: fill the Mobile Sports Locker with equipment that can help more kids get to play.
Community members are encouraged to donate new and gently used sporting equipment for the EMpact One Foundation’s Mobile Sports Locker, which provides sporting equipment at no cost to youth and families throughout the community.
Donations can include baseball and softball gloves, bats and balls; footballs; basketballs; soccer balls and shin guards; volleyballs; tennis racquets and balls; golf equipment; cleats and athletic shoes; helmets and protective equipment; sports bags; training equipment and other usable sporting goods.
The Mobile Sports Locker accepts new and gently used sporting equipment but is not equipped to accept clothing donations.
Monetary donations will also be accepted during the event for those who would like to support the program but do not have equipment to donate.
Visitors can also grab lunch while they are there. Hot dogs and chips will be available for purchase from the Arvest Bank Grill, with food proceeds split between the EMpact One Foundation and Widow’s Sons.
Everett Buick GMC is extending the collection beyond the October 3 event by accepting sporting equipment donations at participating local showrooms during the week leading up to the drive.
Whether it’s a baseball glove that’s been outgrown, cleats that still have another season left in them or a basketball sitting unused in the garage, donated equipment can find a new home through the Mobile Sports Locker.
The EMpact One Foundation works to ensure youth have access to extracurricular activities regardless of financial barriers through programs including Tuition Assistance and the Mobile Sports Locker.
