The former Hot Spring County Sheriff, Derek Scott Finkbeiner, age 46, was arrested and booked in Saline County Detention Center on Friday, May 2nd, 2025. A story by KARK states the arrest was in coordination with the FBI.

The arrest record states that it is a hold for the US Marshal Service. The most recent charge in the Arkansas courts for Finkbeiner is two charges related to prostitution, but that isn’t the reason for this arrest.

KARK reports that Finkbeiner pleaded guilty in February to falsifying, concealing and misleading information in an FBI drug activity investigation. There are 5 other Federal charges against the former sheriff. He was initially charged with crimes in 2023 by the FBI.
