While much of the attention surrounding Benton’s recent growth has focused on the coming Buc-ee’s travel center, another major development has been quietly taking shape nearby.
The Crossings at 114 is a planned mixed commercial and residential development. It’s located at the northwest intersection of Interstate 30 and Arkansas Highway 229, near Exit 114 in Benton. Read more below.
The Crossings at 114 is still in the planning process, and more details are expected to become available as the current owners move forward with their plans.
Based on current information, the project is expected to include approximately 130 acres of mixed commercial development and around 120 acres of residential development.
The commercial portion could eventually include a variety of businesses and services, including retail stores, restaurants, medical offices, insurance agencies and locally owned businesses.
The development is planned for the northwest corner of I-30 and Highway 229. This places it directly along one of the major growth corridors in the Benton and Saline County area.
Now that you know, I have a question for readers.
MySaline has wide reach – including business owners and developers – so we want to hear from you about what types of businesses and services YOU would like to see in the community.
Names of business:
Some requests are already familiar… Residents have repeatedly expressed interest in stores such as Sam’s Club or Costco, Aldi’s and Trader Joe’s… along with specific restaurants that are not already established locally.
Please do list the ones you want! But also what about the business names that don’t always make the usual wish lists? Or maybe just types of businesses.
Types of businesses:
On social media, we see people looking for dry cleaners, and repair services for appliance and lawn equipment. Our community also has limited options for specialty retailers such as musical instrument stores and shops for cameras and supplies.
Think big:
Could The Crossings at 114 eventually be home to a small live-music venue? Could Arkansas-based restaurants or retailers use the development as an opportunity to expand into the Benton market?
Those are just a few ideas. MySaline wants to know what you think is missing. Dream big and let us know in the social media comments at https://www.facebook.com/mysaline.
MySaline expects to have more information about The Crossings at 114 in the coming weeks as the current owners make progress with their plans.
In the meantime, residents can follow the project’s Facebook page, The Crossings at 114.
