Some electric customers in Benton, Arkansas will soon be able to get more insight when there is a power outage in the area. Benton Utilities is about to launch a new feature on their smartphone app, that shows a map of electric outages, as well as an option to report outages. Read more below.
Starting at 7 a.m. on January 21, 2026, Benton Utilities customers will have new tools for tracking and reporting electric outages, thanks to the launch of an interactive outage map and multiple reporting methods.
The new system, which applies to electric service only, allows customers to report outages and track restoration efforts through three platforms: the SmartHub mobile app, a public outage map accessible online, and the traditional phone line. Water and wastewater issues should still be reported through dispatch, and updates for those services will continue to be shared via the Benton Utilities Facebook page.
Through the SmartHub app, users will see two new options: “Report an Electric Outage” and “Power Outage Map.” Customers can submit outage reports with comments and even photos. The “Track Issue Status” button lets users monitor progress on reported outages.
The public outage map will also be available on the Benton Utilities website and can be accessed directly via web browser. Users can view current outages, status updates, and estimated restoration times. To report an outage through the map, customers will need their SmartHub login credentials.
Customers can still report outages by calling (501) 776-5930. A new automated phone system will recognize the account tied to the incoming phone number. For accurate service, customers are urged to ensure their phone numbers are current. If the system doesn’t recognize a number, customers can enter their account number manually.
