According to Benton Utilities, an unknown company is calling customers. They are reportedly identifying themselves as a Benton Utilities employeee and demanding payment or else service will be shut off.  Benton Utilities says they do not contact customers by phone to inform them they are past due.  They send a past due notice by mail before disconnecting service for non-payment. Any customer who receives one of these calls, can contact the office at 501-776-5923 to confirm their account status.
