Sometimes, a reader poses a question to MySaline because they aren’t sure who else to ask. Over the weekend, a reader asked the reason so many manholes in Benton have recently been spray-painted bright green.
All sorts of fun answers swirled in my head. Could it be Ninja Turtles? Could it be Chia Pet gardens in the middle of the road? Could it be a really large dot-to-dot puzzle where you draw in the lines to make a shape? Of course, none of those answers were the right one, so I called on Benton Utilities to see if they could tell me something a little more logical.
A source on staff stated that they are doing a manhole project on Military Road. The manholes will be replaced and leveled so that it won’t feel like drivers are running over a speed bump.
That answer isn’t nearly as fun as the others I came up with, but it will be helpful for when you’re cruising on Saturday night. Or just when you’re headed for groceries.

Never thought if it till now, but I think it would have been cool if they made it a school project. Get the school art class out with different colors and let them go at it with bright bold colors.
Of course they could block off traffic for an hour for a particular section of road on a Saturday evening and let them paint whatever. Landscapes, still life, animal faces etc…
