- 1202 Salem Road south
- to the intersection of Hart Road,
- including side road Terry Lynn.
This order was issued as a precautionary measure because of the possibility that contaminated water may have entered the distribution system as a result of a partial loss in normal system pressure.
Under this notice, all affected customers are advised that the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one (1) minute prior to use. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
This Notice will be lifted by the Department of Health when one (1) set of bacteriological samples indicate that the water is free of bacterial contamination and an adequate disinfectant level is established throughout the distribution system.
While I appreciate the info from you, Shelli, I would hope that the water association would notify me if it applied to my street.
I agree!
We only hear about this kind of thing in the news. As far as I know the water department doesn’t have a method of getting the word out. It would be great if they had something like First Electric and Entergy that sent texts about outages.
you can sigh up for text alerts @ [email protected]
so if there is an outage or boil order you will be notified.
Also, just to clear things up a little. The Boil Order is from Hart Rd to Shoppers Value. Only the houses on Salem Rd are affected + Terry Lynn. No other side roads are on the boil order,
Hope this helps
I agree. We just saw a small sign on the road side. Thankfully I had not drank any water from the tap yet today.
