Arkansas State Police arrested Eureka Springs City Councilman Harry Meyer on charges of first-degree criminal mischief and aggravated assault stemming from two separate incidents in 2025.
Special agents with the Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division (CID) arrested Eureka Springs City Councilman Harold Frederick “Harry” Meyer, age 76, on Friday, March 13, 2026, according to state police.
Meyer faces charges of first-degree criminal mischief and aggravated assault related to two separate incidents that occurred during the summer of 2025.
According to Arkansas State Police, the Eureka Springs Police Department (ESPD) first requested assistance from state investigators on June 3, 2025, following an incident at a community event held at a city park.
Investigators allege Meyer damaged personal property during the event, which resulted in a felony charge of first-degree criminal mischief after the investigation was completed.
A second investigation began after ESPD requested help from state police on July 14, 2025, regarding Meyer’s involvement in a physical altercation with a neighbor.
Following that investigation, Meyer was charged with aggravated assault.
State police said Meyer was taken into custody by ASP CID special agents, then processed at the Carroll County Detention Center.
Authorities reported that he was later released on his own recognizance.
