ARDOT launches road trip challenge ‘Explore AR Highways’ featuring 5 scenic stops & rewards

The Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT) has launched Explore AR Highways, an interactive statewide road trip quest, inviting travelers to explore scenic routes and landmark destinations across the Natural State.
Participants who visit five designated selfie stops across Arkansas can submit their photos to earn exclusive rewards, including commemorative challenge coins and custom bumper stickers. Read more below.
The annual initiative aims to encourage residents and tourists to travel state roadways while highlighting local culture, state history, and natural landmarks. To complete the quest, travelers must visit five required selfie stops across the state:
- City Rock Bluff off Highway 5 near Calico Rock
- Arkansas’ Grand Canyon along the Highway 7 Scenic Byway
- Arkansas Post National Memorial along the Great River Road
- Ozark Scenic Overlook along the Pig Trail Scenic Byway
- Cossatot Falls along the Cossatot River
To participate, travelers must take a selfie at each required location and post the photos to Facebook or Instagram using the hashtag #ExploreARHighways while tagging @myARDOT.
Once all five destinations have been checked off, participants submit their entry through an official online form at form.jotform.com/262525548162055.
Every participant who completes the challenge will receive an exclusive bumper sticker illustrating one of the featured locations. The winning bumper sticker artwork is determined by public vote on ARDOT’s Facebook page and during the 2026 Arkansas State Fair.
Additionally, the first 250 participants to complete the quest will receive a commemorative ARDOT Challenge Coin.
The program also encourages travelers to visit nearby points of interest along each route, including Blanchard Springs Caverns, Boxley Valley, the Sultana Disaster Museum, the Oark General Store, and local dining options.
For questions or additional information about the challenge, travelers can contact ARDOT Public Information Officer Dave Parker at 501-569-2227 or via email at [email protected].
