Vercie Vandergrift
Vercie Vandergrift, of Little Rock, passed away on September 23, 2026 at the age of 95. She was born November 23, 1930 in Benton. After graduating from high school she attended Draughon School of Business from which she graduated and her last employment was with UAMS, retiring after having been there for twenty-one years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years James; her mom, Dixie Beaty; son, Brent; sister, Myrtice Cate; and brother, Curtis Beaty. And of course, grandpa and grandma, who accepted her family into their home, making it theirs when they were abandoned.
Vercie is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Brad (Lori) Vandergrift, and Mark (Jacquelyn) Vandergrift; daughter and son-in-law, Belinda (Gill) Rogers; niece, Carolyn Cate; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 12:00 noon, October 1 at Pinecrest Memorial Park.

Lonzie Jordan
Lonzie Jordan, 76, of Mabelvale, Arkansas, passed away September 23, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 2, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to the late George and Beluah (Freeman) Jordan.
Lonzie was a hardworking man who believed in doing a job right. He worked in the maintenance department for the Little Rock Housing Authority, where his many skills served him well. Whether it was electrical work, plumbing, construction, or just about anything that needed to be repaired, Lonzie had a way of figuring it out and getting it done. He truly was a man of many talents, and he passed that same strong work ethic down to his children.
When he wasn’t working, Lonzie enjoyed being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and took great pride in working in his yard. He also loved tinkering with motors and had the skill and patience to rebuild cars from the ground up. Lonzie enjoyed working with his hands, and there wasn’t much he couldn’t build, fix, or repair.
As talented and hardworking as Lonzie was, his greatest pride was his family. He loved them deeply and was a devoted husband, a loving daddy, and a treasured Paw Paw. The lessons he taught, the example he set, and the love he gave will continue to live on through those who knew him best.
Lonzie leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife of 31 years, Tanya Jordan; children, Justin Jordan, Kinlea Scruggs and her husband Jack, and Kyndall Bryant; grandchildren, Sutton Scruggs and Tyler Scruggs; sister, Sue Franks; brother-in-law, Joe Jarrett; special neighbors of more than 40 years who became more like family, Ricky and Tricia Aureli; and many other family members and friends who love Lonzie and will miss him always.
