Habitat for Humanity of Saline County is preparing for its 2026 Apostles Build this September, bringing local churches, volunteers and community supporters together to help build a home for a local woman and her son. The build site is at 1628 S. Market St. in Benton. Read more below.
The Apostles Build is a church-focused Habitat for Humanity effort that relies on congregations and volunteers to help construct a home for a local family. This year’s build is being organized throughout September, with several church groups scheduled to participate.
The schedule begins Tuesday, Sept. 15, with SUMC providing the group and meals for breakfast and lunch.
- Tuesday, Sept. 15: SUMC — breakfast and lunch
- Wednesday, Sept. 16: FUMC-Bryant — breakfast; a lunch provider is still needed
- Thursday, Sept. 17: Saline Independent — breakfast and lunch, with lunch provided by Our Lady of Fatima
- Tuesday, Sept. 22: First Baptist-Benton — breakfast and lunch
- Thursday, Sept. 24: Entergy — breakfast and lunch providers are still needed
Churches and organizations interested in helping with meals can provide breakfast or lunch for volunteers on dates where a provider is still needed.
Habitat’s Church Relations Committee will meet at 10:30 a.m. Aug. 3 at Northside Church. The organization is encouraging churches to participate and is asking supporters not to forget to invite a new church to join Habitat’s mission.
The 2026 Apostles Build is being dedicated to Daysha and her son, Liam. According to the build announcement, Daysha dreams of providing a safe and stable home where her son can grow, learn and thrive.
Habitat for Humanity emphasizes that its homes are built through more than lumber and nails. The organization relies on faith communities, volunteers, partnerships and donors to help families achieve homeownership.
This build also honors the memory of James Gaither. The announcement thanks him for his years of service and the many people he helped through his work as part of the Tuesday Crew.
Habitat for Humanity of Saline County is inviting residents to participate through volunteering, advocacy, donations, prayer and church involvement. The organization says every contribution helps build more than a house — it helps build hope for a local family.
