Benton Parks and Recreation has announced the return of the annual Benton Juneteenth Celebration, inviting the community to gather for a day centered on freedom, culture, and community. Read more below.
Presented by Everett Buick GMC, the free, family-friendly event will take place on Saturday, June 13th, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Ralph Bunche Community Center.
Attendees can look forward to a wide array of activities, including live music from a DJ, bounce houses, games, crafts, and food. The celebration will also feature a diverse selection of local Black-owned businesses and vendors, alongside community giveaways. Early arrivals will have an extra perk, as the first 150 attendees will receive a free Juneteenth T-shirt.
In addition to the festivities, the event will highlight significant cultural programming, including the formal reading of the local Juneteenth proclamation. Guests will also have the opportunity to view a special “Quilted History Museum” presentation led by Carolyn Williams.
Organizers extended their gratitude to Everett Buick GMC and all local sponsors whose support makes the annual gathering possible.
