Young Players is set to bring a familiar fairytale favorite to the stage this month with “Shrek The Musical JR.” at the Royal Theatre in historic downtown Benton.

WHAT
The family-friendly production follows Shrek, the misunderstood ogre, and his sidekick Donkey as they try to reclaim Shrek’s swamp from Lord Farquaad. Along the way, they encounter Princess Fiona, a dragon, and a group of fairy tale characters in a musical about friendship, acceptance, and inner beauty.
Sponsored by Everett Chevrolet, the show runs March 12-21, 2026, with performances scheduled over two weekends. The final performance will be Saturday, March 21. There will not be a show on Sunday, March 22.
The production is based on the Broadway musical adapted from the Oscar-winning DreamWorks animated film Shrek.
