MySaline announces a winner in the matchmaking event, “Find a Blind Online Valentine”

UPDATE MARCH 15, 2026:

Here we are – finally at the end of the matchmaker event – “Find a Blind Online Valentine” and it’s time to announce a winner! But first:

Some history:

One hundred people signed up to participate. MySaline published the profiles and everyone had the chance to look through and pick up to five people that would get their contact info. After that, it was left in the hands of the participants to contact people, set up dates and go out.

Regardless of whether people got picked or contacted anyone or ever went on a date or not, they all still had the opportunity to tell their story from this experience. Submitting that story is what entered them into the drawing to win a dinner for two to Verona Italian Restaurant, at 16925 Interstate 30 in Benton.

Responses from participants in the event were mixed. Unfortunately, many participants experienced little or no follow-up communication after matching. However, at least two participants say their matches led to ongoing conversation and a date.

Here’s the range of experiences:

🦗 Crickets – Two participants said they never heard from anyone after the event and described the experience as disappointing.

👻 Ghosts – Several participants said communication never progressed. Some reported that the people they matched with stopped texting after a day or “ghosted.”

🤡 A Creep – One person got more communication than she wanted. She reported an uncomfortable interaction with a match. After beginning to text, the match asked a series of explicit and personal questions that made the participant uncomfortable. She chose not to pursue a date. (Also, MySaline absolutely doesn’t not condone the man’s behavior!)

✨ Sparks – One participant reported a positive outcome, saying they matched with someone and the two have been chatting after both selecting each other. Another reported that she and a match went on a date and it seemed promising. She said the matchmaking event gave her the push to meet someone, when she probably would not have done it otherwise.
