The Benton Police Department has released an update in an ongoing missing person investigation, confirming that a deceased individual found Tuesday afternoon is the same man previously reported missing earlier this week.

According to police, at approximately 1:00 p.m. on February 4th, a city employee discovered a body near the City of Benton Reservoir and immediately notified authorities. Investigators later confirmed the individual was Andrew Wallace, age 37, who was the subject of a missing person alert issued by the department.
Wallace was reported missing on February 2nd and was last seen on January 31st at approximately 7:00 a.m. after leaving the River Center. Benton Police had previously asked for the public’s help in locating him.
Police confirmed that next of kin have been notified. The case remains an active and ongoing investigation. At this time, officials say no suspects are being sought and there is no indication of any ongoing threat to the public. The cause and manner of death have not yet been determined and will be addressed through the investigative process.
Benton Police are asking anyone who may have information related to the case — including sightings, interactions, or other details involving Wallace between January 31 and February 4 — to contact investigators. Authorities emphasize that even information that may seem minor could be important.
