RUNOFF ELECTION, MAR 24-30 (If Necessary)
A runoff election will only be held if the candidate receiving the most votes fails to obtain a majority (50% + 1) of the total votes cast. The runoff election will be held between the two candidates who received the highest number of votes.
Voters participating in a runoff election must vote in the same party primary in which they originally voted. For example, a voter who participated in the Democratic Primary will not be permitted to vote in a Republican Primary runoff, and vice versa.

Important Primary Election Information
The Republican Party of Arkansas (RPA) has recently implemented a change to its primary election rules, making the Republican Primary a semi-closed primary. Under this change, voters who are registered as Democrats will not be permitted to vote in the Republican Primary.
Voters are encouraged to verify their voter registration status prior to Election Day to ensure they are eligible to participate in the primary election of their chosen party. Voter registration information can be reviewed at salinecounty.org/voterview
Voter Participation & Turnout
During the November 2024 General Election, Saline County ranked #1 in the State of Arkansas for voter turnout, according to a statement from the Saline County Clerk’s Office. County election officials hope to see that same level of strong civic participation continue during the 2026 Primary Election.
Voter turnout totals will be posted daily throughout Early Voting on the Saline County Clerk’s Office social media pages, keeping residents informed and engaged as voting progresses.
