If there were some way to bring the cost of food down, and eat more fresh food, it would help our finances, and help us all to be healthier. I personally have wanted chickens for a long time. My significant other does not want chickens. They keep the bugs down, provide eggs, and provide meat (if they don't become pets). My grandmother had some fancy chickens that became pets, and if my recollection is correct, they lived to be nearly ten years old.
