Saline County Library Hosts Third Annual Tiny Art Show
Saline County Library
Benton, ARK – From Wednesday, May 1, to Friday, May 31, the Saline County Library is hosting its Third Annual Tiny Art Show. Patrons will be given the opportunity to decorate their own miniature canvases, which will be displayed at the Benton branch for viewing and voting. The Benton branch is located at 1800 Smithers Drive, Benton, AR 72015.
Starting on Monday, April 1, patrons are encouraged to pick up a blank 3-inch by 3-inch canvas from the Makerspace on the lower floor of the Benton branch. Patrons have the option of working on their canvas in the Makerspace with the library’s supplies, or they can decorate their canvas at home with their own art supplies. This art show is open to anyone, ages five and older. Both children and adults are encouraged to participate.
Canvases are available to patrons on a first-come, first-served basis. Anyone who still wants to participate after the library runs out of blank canvases is welcome to purchase their own 3-inch by 3-inch canvas to enter into the art show.
Patrons are encouraged to use paint, markers, fabrics, or any other art supplies they can attach to the canvas. Once the canvas has been decorated, it should be returned to the Benton branch no later than Saturday, April 27. The library reserves the right to deny any entry that displays inappropriate or unkind messages or images.
Entries will be on display at the Benton branch from Wednesday, May 1, to Friday, May 31. During this time, patrons will have the opportunity to vote on their favorite art pieces in both the children and adult categories. The winning pieces in each age group will be announced on Monday, June 3, then participants will have one week to take their artwork home.
“Tiny boards are great for those who want to try something creative but might be intimidated at the thought of filling a large canvas,” said Makerspace Specialist Becca Griffin. “The tiny space can spark thinking outside the box!”
The Saline County Library has been serving the residents of Saline County since 1931. In that time, it has expanded to three locations: The Bob Herzfeld Memorial Library in Benton, the Mabel Boswell Memorial Library in Bryant, and the East End Branch Library in Hensley. The Saline County Library also provides a variety of events and community outreach programs. For a full list of services and upcoming events, visit www.salinecountylibrary.org or call 501-778-4766.

Our 2nd Annual Ladies Tea will include an assortment of teas and yummy treats as well as some other surprises and guests! We are so excited to share this year’s amazing featured speaker, Mrs. Dani Hardy! Dani is a lover of Jesus, people, and making a difference in her corner of the world. She has been married to her husband, Dusty for nearly 19 years and they’ve been serving together in ministry for 17 years. She adores being a mom to her two daughters, ages 8 and 2, and thanks God for the three babies she carried in her womb but never held in her arms. Dani is the Communications Pastor and Leader of the Women’s Ministry at Gracechurch and possesses great passion for encouraging women forward in their lives. Outside of work, Dani has the privilege to travel as a speaker & teacher of God’s word as well as write, podcast, and encourage through DaniHardy.com. For fun, she enjoys reading, listening to records, exploring outside, and spending time with her family. It is with deep reverence for motherhood and a strong belief in the value of women, that Dani is eager to encourage us at the EMpact Mother’s Day Tea.
