Comment by Josh on February 1, 2010 at 6:09am - I don`t think it should be a law that you have to chip your animal.The owner of the animals will have to pay for the chips and that will be a costly thing for the small family farmer.And that may put them out of business,and If they make it a law the cost will keep going up and up as taxes all ways do.Big Government is not a good thing they should not over see every aspect of daily life.Next thing you know they will say you can only grow genetically modified plants.I think if you want the chips get them.But if I don`t want them I shouldn't`t have my animals taken away or go to jail for not getting them.Not every idea has to become LAW.

I wouldn't mind having a chip in my dogs, but I have a couple of questions on this subject. Beyond the possibility of a cancerous growth, what are people afraid of in having their animals chipped? What would "big brother" find out about a guy's cattle or pets that he doesn't want them to know? And c'mon, there are all kinds of implants, including functioning organs that the body accepts as its own. Why wouldn't somebody be able to do this with a data chip? Are they saying this one company's chips is causing cancer, or all chips?
