The Saline County Library is partnering with 76 local businesses during the month of September as a part of this year’s Library Card Sign-Up Month celebration. Businesses from all over Saline County are offering discounts to customers who present their library card.
September is a national day for libraries called Library Card Sign-Up Month. Most libraries participate, and the Saline County Library uses this as a time to get the community involved.
Discounts include 5%-25% off of a purchase or service, a free item with a meal, a discounted hotel stay and more.
This year, the 19 sponsors helped with printing materials so the Library hosted a kickoff party called “Mystery at the Library,” to thank the sponsors and participants. Each guest dressed up as a famous literary character and learned about the library in the process. The public should know the library offers passport services, educational and entertaining programs, video games and more.
Sign up for a library card by visiting the Saline County Library. Bring identification and proof of current address. If you do not live in Saline County, bring a pay stub showing that you work here, or a document showing that you attend school here. If you would like to use online resources only, visit the website and fill out an application for an online card.
Citizens of Garland, Grant and Hot Spring County can apply for a Saline County Library card because of a special reciprocal agreement. If you do not live in any of the counties listed above, you can apply for a Saline County Library card by bringing your ID and paying an annual fee of $10.
