Shell in Benton Robbed Again Today
One suspect entered the business armed with a pistol that was displayed during the course of the robbery. While inside the business the suspect jumped onto the counter and fired a round from the pistol into the floor, and then fled the business with an undisclosed amount of money and merchandise. The clerk didn’t sustain any physical injuries as a result of this incident.
The suspect that entered the business was described as being a slender white male wearing a black jacket and jeans with a dark colored, half-open face style toboggan. Additionally, there were two individuals in a vehicle outside the business that accompanied him there, but never entered the store. The suspect vehicle was described as being a late 90’s Chevrolet Malibu.
Detectives are diligently working leads in the case and additional information will be broadcast as it becomes available. Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to please contact the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or 315-TIPS. Individuals also may send an anonymous crime tip to CRIMES (274637) with the keyword BNPD in the body of the text.

Is this just an ideal location to pull off a robbery--twice in such a short time? could this have had help from the inside? hate to think that ?

I, too, would bet drugs and easy money. I just don't see anyone who was robbing a store out of concern for their family would fire a gun, up in the air or otherwise.
But, I could be wrong too.

I would bet drugs and easy money. I really have not lost enough hope in humanity to think that someone who needed to pay bills would rob a store. I could be wrong though.
I would love to ask why as well.

I wish I could talk to all of these people who has recently seemed to run rampant. My question would be "Why?". Are these people committing these acts because they need money for drugs or is it because they need to pay their rent and bills and have been looking for a job for months and this is the last resort for them to be able to keep their family together?
I am just curious about the "Why?".
My daughter works at a convenience store and I am always so worried about her. Even more so on the nights she closes alone. Fortunately, the location is frequented by Saline County Sheriff Department employees ( SHOUT OUT!!) and so that makes me feel a little better. I always slow down because I can almost always count on there being "one" sitting there.
