Saline County Sheriff Candidate Announces Technology Plan

Alexander , AR – James Ward, Republican candidate for Saline County Sheriff, announced the implementation of D.I.R.T. (Danger In Real Time), a high tech option for tracking crimes as they occur.  If elected, Ward will execute the use of new technology in the County’s largest division.  His proposed D.I.R.T. program will alert residents of criminal activity in their neighborhood if they sign up to receive text messages on their cell phones. Under the plan users can send tips on crimes to the Sheriff’s department inserting technology at a new level.

“The use of technology is a cost effective way to fight crime,” said Ward. “I have used similar technology in my campaign over the last six months and have a few thousand citizens logged in that I can communicate with instantly about what’s going on in my campaign,” Ward continued. “Drug activity and burglaries have increased in Saline County and with the use of today’s technology we can provide a tool for the exchange of information which may be helpful in solving crimes,” he said.

Under Ward’s administration, web-based technology will also be used to help citizens interact with the Sheriff’s Department for:

  • Jail information, such as bookings and charges
  • Instant access to bail bond companies and attorneys
  • Easy access to warrant postings
  • Most wanted information, and
  • News Releases

“I would like to see the D.I.R.T. program introduced in our schools to enable kids a venue for anonymous communication on important issues like drug activity, gang violence, predators and abuse,” Ward said. “Kids love technology and if it is offered, and they are educated, they will use it,” he said.

Saline County ’s property crime rate is significantly higher than the national average and drug related arrests have dropped under the current Sheriff.  D.I.R.T. is one of the initiatives Ward will implement to improve the management of the Sheriff’s Department.  To receive updates on the James Ward for Sheriff Campaign, text JAMES WARD to 90210.

I like this technology plan.  I think more people should be reading about this great idea.  Seems some people just want to criticize James Ward and not give him credit for his ideas and plans.  I would like to see his tech plan put into action by Mr. Ward.  Take time to read it!

Sounds like a solid plan. Hope we all get the chance to use it.

damn people, this argument can be resolved quick.  Shelli, can you please post the row from the article above and show everybody who last modified by, may need to join from the table that includes the users table to show the user that modify the row.  That should take a minute to write the query and display the results and resolve any conspiracy.

i see a complete page of candidates advertising on the vote 2012 page.

Now explain why you do not see any other candidates advertising themselves on mysaline. After you do that, explain why every Ward supporter, including supporters of all other candidates are allowed to type. Finally, explain why so many "anti-pennington" threads are still here.

Any thought of some conspiracy that mysaline does not allow "opposition" to speak is retarded.

James Wards post was deleted by someone other than himself.

You realize it would have been removed for a reason right? For all we know ward may have done it himself. Perhaps mysaline wants all political campaigning to be in the politics section. Considering i never see any other candidates posting their "ideas," then perhaps mysaline stays neutral by not allowing any.

The conspiracy crap is just stupid.

This post was deleted by the Mysaline webmaster or moderators. Google has been kind enough to release it via webcache.   James Ward has assured me he did not delete this post.

This is the first candidate in this election season to step into the ring and field questions from the voters.  He has been denied the freedoms to speak to the voters on Mysaline because his blog was deleted.    Go James Ward.
