I know you have trees and branches down from Snowpocalypse 2012 but there's a way to get rid of all that yard debris without making your garbage man hate you. County and city employees are teaming up to provide a Byrnside if you can haul your yard debris or if you cannot call it they will come pick it up at your curb starting next week.
The state has approved a burn site behind the new airport at Reynolds Rd. Signs will indicate the location. Residents may come Monday - Saturday, 7am-4pm. County employees will be there to help.
If aren't able to haul to the site, you are encouraged to bring debris curbside for pick-up and removal. City and county employees cannot go onto private property to assist in the cutting and removal of debris. We are reassigning as many employees as possible to facilitate the massive clean-up problem. Please be patient, it will take several weeks to get this accomplished.
To report debris to be picked up which has been located at curbside, you may contact the City of Benton Street Department at 501-776-5990 or City Hall at 501-776-5900. If your debris is located in the utility right of way, you should contact Benton Public Utilities at 501-776-5930 for directions on how to proceed.
Anyone who has suffered damage to their residence, or other personal property, should contact the Saline County Office of Emergency Management at 501-303-5649 to report the nature of the damage.
