I am tired of the ignorant people who listen to the media and do not even know the difference between a deer rifle, an AR15(aka media called Assault Rifle) and a "Military Assault Rifle"

Deer Rifle = shoots 223 caliber shell, shoots one bullet every time you pull the trigger, has a 7, 10 20, or 30 round clip.

AR15(aka media called Assault Rifle) = shoots 223 caliber shell, shoots one bullet every time you pull the trigger, has a 7, 10 20, or 30 round clip, Looks scarier than a Deer Rifle

Military Assault Rifle= shoots 223 caliber shell, has 3 settings one bullet per pull, 3 bullet per pull or all bullets per pull of the trigger, has a 7, 10 20, or 30 round clip

The only difference between a Deer Rifle and an AR15(aka media called Assault Rifle) is cosmetic. The AR15 has composite stock not wood and has a hand grip instead of the traditional grip.
The AR15 shoots the same bullet, the same amount of bullets, the same rate of fire of bullets as a Deer Rifle.

You can buy any Deer rifle and change the stock and it looks like a Military Assault Weapon. That’s does not make it an Assault weapon.

I have had to educate so many misinformed people by the media on the difference of a Military Assault Weapon, an AR15(aka media called Assault Rifle) and a Deer Rifle.
They all tell me the media misinformed them of the real difference and have thanked me.

Aimee,  Just for clarification, it takes 1 second, thats 1 second, to drop a clip out and put another in.  So I don't see the great benefit of limiting the size of the clip.

 It is estimated 270 million firearms in the US. And an unknown number that have never been registered.

313,914,040 (2012) population. So more than one gun per person in the USA.

Fact: Criminals will not turn in their guns.

Fact: You will never be able to confiscate all the guns in America. (It is physically impossible, Some estimates put the Australian turn-in at less than 25% and the British faired only about 28%. Americas are less likely to obey)

Fact: Whole towns and states will contemplate civil war before they handover their guns. (Texas, Oregon & Idaho is already proposing legislation to stop federal government from ignoring the second amendment)

Fact: Black market arms sales are huge in every country, you cannot stop guns coming into a country.(Mexico is a perfect example & our border is wide open)

Fact: Country’s with Gun Bans have higher Crime. (Look at Mexico, England & Australia)

Fact: An AR-15 (“Assault Weapon” aka bias media label) in the USA is not a Military Weapon, it is a regular gun made to look like a Military Assault Weapon.

Fact: An AR-15 cannot shot bullets faster than a regular deer rifle. Semi-auto is one trigger pull = one bullet,. most all deer rifles are Semi-Auto, Military Weapons shoot Multiply bullets per one pull of the trigger.

Fact: You cannot purchase a True Fully Automatic Military Weapon in the USA without a special permit that is very hard to get from the Federal Government.

Fact: They make large capacity clips for most every deer rifle or pistol ever made. Lots of Deer hunters own them and use them.

 

Learn the facts of what the proposed ban is banning, most of the guns that many deer hunters use will be banned,

Do not be tricked into the “SUMMARY” of the proposed ban bill, try getting a copy of the proposed bill, it is hard to get. The “summary” sounds not that bad, read the full bill and it is unbelievable.

The full bill says all “Semiautomatic rifles and handguns with a fixed magazine that can accept more than 10 rounds is banned” That’s most all guns in America..

 

The  “SUMMARY” says  “Protects legitimate hunters and the rights of existing gun owners by: Grandfathering weapons legally possessed on the date of enactment;”

The “FULL PROPOSED BILL” says “"Prohibits the transfer or pass them to heirs of "assault weapons." .. “assault weapons" would remain with their current owners until their deaths, at which point they would be forfeited to the government.”
Now tell me that is not double talk? Do not listen to what they tell you is in the bill,, read a copy of it yourself..

 

Obviously this whole uproar is about the Mentally ill doing mass killings so let focus on the real problem not the hype.

So with all this being undeniable real facts, what would you propose to reduce the mentally ill from getting a gun and going to a gun free zone and killing defenseless innocent people.?

If all clips were limited to 10 rounds I guess it would make sense.... oh wait criminals don't follow laws.  So if they ban all clips over 10 rounds I will not hold my breath waiting for the crooks to turn in the larger clips.

Cars with seatbelts is not a relevant claim.  Guns outlast most things manufactured these days.  Guns don't get "miles" on them like cars do.  :)  We don't need an "eventual" end to this problem.  Taking away high capacity clips, assault weapons, and regulating the law-abiding citizens won't fix this.  We need to stop these psychos from seeing law-abiding citizens as weak, feeble, and helpless. You take those things from law abiding citizens (to the point that only criminals and military/police have them) and the citizens do become weak.

Honestly I think I'm done arguing the point because it is going nowhere I've said all I need to say on the matter.  You won't change my mind and I won't change yours and that is fine.  I wasn't aiming to change your mind.  I had merely hoped to open your eyes a bit to the type of society we will have when we start giving up even part of our freedoms.  They tell me I can keep my gun but they regulate what kind, capacity of rounds, and force me to register it then they are indeed taking my freedom.

So, you feel safe with a 30 round clip? What if the other person has a 50 round one? What should you do? Buy a 100 round clip? But what if they have a 200 round one? Do you not see the insanity of this "logic"?

If all clips were limited to 10 rounds, would that not solve the problem eventually? How many cars without seat belts are still on the road today?

Don't let the "perfect" get in the way of the "good"!
