Fatal Accident Involving Bryant Students

I asked Mysaline members if they had any info about a car accident last night involving Bryant students. I received the following replies.

Drew Melton, Age 17

I heard Med Flight on the ground in Salem area for quite some time around 1AM. When I turned on the scanner I heard them say they had clearance to go to ACH. Later I heard an ambulance taking two 17 yr old back seat passengers to the hospital from an accident with major damage to the vehicle. Then I saw on Facebook where a 17 yr old girl, was killed in a car accident last night. The accident was at Springhill and Northlake.

Accident involved [four Bryant students]. Not sure exactly where it happened but they lost control I believe and hit a tree. [One of the passengers] has passed away.

A female that was a Senior at Benton High School was killed in that accident. There were 3 Bryant boys in the car, one was air lifted to Children’s. I heard there was a girl from Bauxite in the car also. Very tragic.

My heart aches for this young lady, her family and friends, and the others In the car who will be haunted by her death and also suffer with their own injuries. I haven't been able to get these kids or their families off my mind all day. Praying for them all. So tragic. Yrs, Brad, it does make me want to hug my babies and grandbabies close and pray for their safety.

"What my daughter heard from the sister of one of those in the wreck was Caleb Strain was driving 90 mph and topped a hill and lost control. Hit three trees and wripped the Honda Accord in half with the motor being found 200 feet away. 4 of the 5 were airlifted out. Strain is in surgery now for fractured pelvis, femur and facial fractures. Hayden lessenberry (Bryant's star quarterback) has broken shoulder and various leg injuries, skyler micissick has knee injuries, drew Melton from Benton was killed and Allie beech from bauxite has concussion."

Drew was a special young lady. Very sweet. Very athletic. Saline County is in mourning for this precious child. Prayers for her family and many friends.

Very tragic and a matter in which everyone will hopefully respect the privacy of the families involved.

I know how hard it can be to lose a child.  I lost my 3-month-old granddaughter due to a 40-year-old man crossing the median on I-430 and hitting my daughter's car.  My daughter was in a coma for three months, with a long rehab following.  It's really hard to lose a child or grandchild.  My heart certainly goes out to this family.  They will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Praying for these families.

Many readers know her maternal grandparents, Mary and Joe Don Davis, who owned the Dairy Queen after Tommie Adams sold it.  Drew was the daughter of Ted and Susan (Davis) Melton.  Please lift up all these families up in your prayers.
