Pennington Retired???
Mr. Pennington needs just one more term to get a full retirement from the citizens of Saline County. What has he done to earn a continued paycheck on the backs of the taxpayer?
- Burglaries have not been investigated (all reports taken over the phone)
- Drug arrests are down 68%
- Bruglary rate is 50% higher than the national average
- Internet predator arrests are down 95%
- Jail remains out of control and ranks #1 in death and abuse cases
- Has pending class action lawsuit for requiring inmates to pay a warrant fee even after he was warned to stop by not only an attorney but by an attorney generals opinion
- No new deputies in 20 years have been added and he has done nothing to come up with a solution to change this aspect (43,000 new residents in same time period and sheriff budget is 6 times higher during same time period) ***Where is the money going?***
- No new technology has been added with the exception to kiosks being added to the jail pods for inmates to send emails out (WOW)
- Several new dodge chargers have been destroyed under his watch
- The reserve program has become a spot for political appointees (List of reserves will be at bottom)
- Illegally appointed three quorum court members to the reserve program
- Lost the 309 program after they were caught drinking and having sex in the visitation room
- Jail continues to fail inspection regarding trianing that is required by law
- Purchased three luxury SUV's (Tahoes) on the backs of taxpayers (1 was given by us marshal service)
- Discontinued work with Marshal Service after they got the new Tahoe
- Nearly 1 Million in payout due to lawsuits due to lack of training in jail
- Left the East End Substation unused for nearly two years (until re-election this year)
- Specail treatment of David Pierce (54 Counts of contact with young boys)
- Lied to the public regarding 1.6 million he claims he turned back
- Claims his drug arrests are down 68% because he has put them all in prison
- Lied to his own party and used them to get elected them stabbed them in the back
- Has a long history of not telling the truth (see state police record and compare to today)
- Failed to call ambulance for an inmate then tried to cover it up
- Has said that he doesn't care about the very public who elected him when they complain (see video released by Mrs. Ives)
- Has failed to offer any new programs that are inovative or technological
* Political appointments to the reserve program by the Sheriff include; Dennis Milligan, Mark Kizer, Alan Dabbs, Tom Lish, Rick Meyer, Patrick Rhodes...seems like I am missing someone here.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY? NO MORE MONEY FROM US TAXPAYERS SIR...IT ALL ENDS THIS TUESDAY MAY 22ND IN THE REPUBLICAN PRIMARY.

Nobody said anything about what vehicle the Sheriff or his admin drives!! Don't be jealous Cooper! Lets hear about the jail!! Where are you getting these facts!! I've been patiently waiting to hear this and your ignoring it!! WHY is that Mr. Cooper?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Here are the luxury SUV's he purchased for himself and his top admin personel. It is also important that Mr. Pennington told the fine people of the Hot Springs Village Tea Party that they were cheaper than the Dodge Chargers...not to worry because it was corrected for him after the meating.

This week was National Police Memorial Week to honor those officers who paid the ultimate sacrifice with their lives. A local event with the Saline County multi-jurisdictional honor guard were held on Monday night at the courthouse.
Well, guess who showed up five minutes before it was over?? Mr Ward and EJ Harris. Both had a very disheveled appearance and looked like they had slept in their shirts. Both left immediately afterwards without speaking to hardly anyone there. Not exactly very respectful towards officers he wants to work with as sheriff, and not very convincing that he has s lot of officer support. Maybe support from former officers like those mentioned in the FOP endorsement. Some might say this shows he's a true outsider that will turn things around, but I would beg to differ if he doesn't have the respect of those around him. Especially since there were also members of the clergy present who weren't even acknowledged by him.
Not much of a command leadership presence demonstration by him
This is a major concern for future relationships with other agencies and community leaders in Saline County.
This is my humble opinion.

Once again you make up stories to fit what you want. I dont like racial profiling american citizens...thats what the article was about. But of course you only read what you want. I have not commented on the jail so you made that one up out of the blue. By the way...im not with the TEA party...i just like to barrow their hat so people like you will "profile" me and show you ignorance.

Don't worry, Mr. Cooper, Ill wait!! This I have got to see! And please, make sure they are TRUE facts and not something James Ward made up to help his campaign!! I'm sure all the Deputies in the jail will appreciate this!! Come on with it!!

Just take a quick look at him and Casey...
Both represent themselves as Tea Party supporters. I was unaware that the Tea Party fights for comfy, well cared for, lavish, docile punishment in jail. Cooper even brought up Sheriff Arapio. He supports his treatment of prisoners but not Pennington's? Lol, bs. And Casey is upset at deporting illegals??? Bull crap.

well I am certainly going to be voting for a change with James Ward! I have never seen such bullying and bashing since I was in school from the Pennington people, many of them officers. If Ward is elected he will have his hands full with officer attitude adjustments before he ever takes on the county problems!
