Oh John, play on words you are not very good at this game.  You and the public know Bruce can't do everything because as you and your followers say "The Sheriff must administrate the day to day operations"  John---you can't have it both ways now.  Play fair.

Comment by John M Cooper on May 20, 2012 at 2:02am

So now you finally agree that the Sheriff himself does not go out and do these things himself.  More reason to have a qualified administrator in this seat because in your own words and I quote "Your right John, Sheriff Pennington DID NOT respond to burglaries, investigate drug dealer the Deputies did".  Thanks for clearing that one up!!

Your right John, Sheriff Pennington DID NOT respond to burglaries, investigate drug dealer the Deputies did.  Pay attention and watch how you word things John.  Your too easy.

I knew you wouldn't get me the incident number to research your weak claims.  Thanks for supporting my thoughts about you John.

You live in a very fragile world be very careful John.  72 hours and your world will crumble.

Courier in fact did remove a prepaid ad from Mr. Ward.  They don't realize that they do not have this option and may be in some trouble over this one.

Interesting you say retire...Pennington does in fact need just one more term to get his retirement.  ATTENTION TAXPAYERS Tell Pennington that he has done nothing to earn a county retirement paid by you for the rest of his life.  He did not respond to your burglaries, he did not investigate and take down drug dealers.  Tell him NO NO NO...send him packing with no extra money.

You think I am going to give you an incident number on my burglary so you can come and put me in your jail and beat me like so many others.  You claim that we are listening to inmates... Sir the jail is not a place that was designed to punish but rather to hold until the court "justice system" decides if the person is guilty and what punishment should be.  The abuse cases have all been settled out of court.  No incident number of my burglary coming to you...nice try though.

@ Casey--typical Casey.  Approximately 72 hours from now most of you will disappear from this blog area and fade into the woodwork and some who care about Saline County will add useful comments and make this place a good place to visit and interact with others.

I for one will be so happy that this election period will come to an end.   But in two years we will have to put up with you again.  Sad, maybe Ward will get some education in LE and be better prepared for the next go round.  Maybe Bruce will retire by then.  Maybe!  God Bless you sir.

Construction of the new jail was funded by a tax. Deputies for the jail was funded by a tax...... want to try again ?

Comment by Casey Smith on May 19, 2012 at 9:27pm

So you just called civilians stupid? Only LEOs know how to do budgets and understand money? Great answer ??????

Comment by William Tell on May 19, 2012 at 9:15pm

Mr. and Mrs., most people on this site realize the construction of a new jail must cost something, along with new Deputies assigned to Detention. Transport vehicles, insurance, salaries, utilities., etc. raise the budget , common sense issues. This is the part that concerns me, so many detractors here have never been law enforcement officers, administrators, and never will. So when trying to explain common knowledge situations to civilians, the message may not be coming through. When politics makes adversarial situations, even the correct answers will be challenged for challenging sake, so no matter what it will be questioned. Thank you.
