Did anyone catch the Courier today? I read about how someone sent a letter to Hot Springs Village and claimed to be Ms. Samples. Milligan denys knowing about it, ( Plausable Deniability im sure).
Do you think it will reflect badly on Milligans campaign?
What do you think the person was thinking by sending this type of letter out? (you could clearly tell a person whose campaigning would not send something of this nature)

Comment by Annabelle on May 21, 2012 at 7:24pm Hi AB...no I wasn't aiming the "SO" remark at you. It was aimed at the "Three Headed" snake (Tripp, Shadow, and Undertaker) on here who keep saying "BIG" mouth of Ms. Sample.
It's funny to me that ever since the letter came to light, these three have been making wise cracks and "funnies" about why this letter would NOT be investigated and no criminal charges can be made, blah, blah, blah....NOW it's "my intel" says that there may be an arrest made yet! Hmmmm.....what have several of us been trying to tell you big mouths!!!! But, I'm so glad that you guys can post to everyone and act like know it alls once again that your "intel" has revealed the truth for everyone to see.
Hey Denise T....why don't we go to the county clerk's office and get Rick Meyer's voting record and post it like the Milligan cheering sqaud did with Ms. Sample's voting record? That is our right with the Freedom Of Information Act, right?
Ricky, God help me, I do agree with you on one thing.....the corruption IS on the eve of being eliminated in at least ONE office in Saline County!!
Go Myka!!!
Comment by Sam Turkeyhunter Jones on May 21, 2012 at 4:27pm Take a look at Rick Meyer.
Comment by BoydB on May 21, 2012 at 3:29pm And that's if the rumors are true, and someone is actually brought in and charged. Right now, it's all hearsay and nobody in my circles has any solid details, or they're being tight lipped. It hasn't really mattered that much to me, but I must admit even I'm becoming curious as to who it might be.

Comment by A.B. on May 21, 2012 at 2:53pm If the person is found, will the information be released to the public? Thanks for the updates, by the way.
Don't know about "good" news, A.B., just news. And closure, hopefully for everyone so frazzled about it. The outcome will be quite a way down the line for whoever it is. These things don't go fast, even when one piece of paper is involved. Plus, there may be plea-bargaining and other turns to the tale between the accused and the prosecutors, so we will all see in time.

That would be very good news indeed:-)
Luckymom, I'm still of a mind that this letter -- as published in the Courier for those knuckleheads actually pointing at me -- doesn't quite rise to the occasion that the angry Sample camp wants. Nothing was altered or forged. What appears to be an original composition was put on something that looked like it could be her letterhead, and a paste-on signature (presumably hers) was put at the bottom, attributing the content to her. I'm not saying this with the authority of someone who actually knows, but based on a close examination of the image that the Courier published, almost 1/4 of a page.
And as I've frequently said in my commentaries/analysis, the content doesn't come across as particularly damning. It would be hard to even draw a libel suit from the content. If all that is left is "forgery" or "criminal impersonation," those will be charged largely on technicalities, since the rest of their spoof doesn't match up as a "crime."
Translation: This is much ado about almost nothing.
And to Peter Glenn, you'd better watch yourself. You're dancing perilously close to an edge that I would advise you to avoid, making false and unjust suggestions that I might be involved.
When I referred to it in a earlier posting, it was a joke -- largely because the idea itself is preposterous, and I was surprised that someone didn't do it sooner. Obviously, there is some determination to find the person who actually created the "letter," and I'm hearing some of the same things that Undertaker is hinting at, that an arrest may happen yet.
We will all wait and see who it is, but if I were a betting man, I would bet that the identity of the perpetrator just might tell us more than we're bargaining for. It's like a mystery movie now, and we all have to wait and see. Sorry to disappoint you, Peter, but I'm not the one they want.
Comment by Terry B. on May 21, 2012 at 1:49pm I hope this helps some still wondering what a forgery is and why the letter with Myka's signature on it is a crime. Even a cut and paste done with the attempt to defraud fits this catagory to me. It was wrong and I am one that hopes it is tracked down to the person starting it. This is not a simple "school boy" prank. It is just as wrong as bringing our children into this battle, except, it is against the law. Someone crossed the line and I hope they get hung out for it. Myka has handled it with the class we expect, how did others handle it? (No answer necessary; I already know.) (I was going to stay out of this stuff but....I'm hooked.) forgery (ˈfɔːdʒərɪ) |
