Half truth means Partial truth:innuendo unfavorable insinuation; My question is what does a person have to gain by half truths and insinuations? Is it for personal gain ? To smear a persons name or reputation Well lets talk half truths .And by the way I have a right to my humble opinions also.
It is true partially (half true)what was said about Sheriff Pennington . The rest of the story is : The S...tate Police comission overturned the desicion of the Director. Which means Sheriff Pennington did not do any wrong in the Commisions eyes. Sheriff Pennington was re-instated to Sgt. and shortly there after Retired with Full benefits as a SGT. This has been brought up in the two previous elections. So why would someone bring this up again?
Plus was promises made if this was brought back up?
Also Richard Scott was brought up, I suppose to bring descredit on hiring pratices. The young man admits he did wrong. He was also terminated even tho the case was Nol-pros. By reading what was published I get the impression the Mayor ordered the termination not the Chief. It could be the Chief saw no need but since the Mayor can fire the Chief he may have felt to keep his job he had no choice. So now this young man is targeted because of his opinions and outspoken comments? And these things that have happened in the past seems not to bother his wife. If he was as bad as he has been painted I dont think she would be with him. Also one time and no other incidents? It could be the charges were dropped not only because of lack of witness but of evidence. But his reply I think speaks for itself.
I read with interest that a comment was made that an officers report is hearsay. Really? Wow.Funny I always refer to my reports in court.
Also a person using an alias to attack peoples honesty and integrity does not impress me. I would think if you have proof show it and be man or woman enough to put your name to it. And you are right a person is known by the company he keeps. Some people that worked here was terminated or was not going to be hired for the streets for various reasons. Now I see some of them backing the Ward campaign. Interesting isn't it?
I also believe if you work for a man that is elected by the public your loyalty should go to that person while employed.
These are my opinions which everyone is entitled to have their own.It does not mean anyone is right or wrong .It just means people think different and some people are not aware of every aspect of a situation.

Mr. Marable, this is John Publius, I asked a question of Mr. Hutto regarding the actions of Sheriff Pennington post arrest of David Pierce and was never answered, so I ask you. Was David Pierce allowed to bond out at the sheriffs desk and if so, why? Is this normal procedure? Was David Pierce allowed to leave by the back door of the jail? If so, why? Do you believe that David Pierce was treated differently than any other criminal accdused of a similar crime? Thank you for your comments.

Linda this is Harold and you did not get All the papers. I am sure you can FOI the State police commisions records and get the rest of the story

Bill -- you can tell Harold that he is not arguing with me he is arguing with official state police documents which I posted. None of them are my words. My thought is, let everyone read the documents and make their own minds up.

At Harolds request *I give an answer. If the Sheriff had been demoted his salary would have been 33percent less, he was not and DID NOT recieve a pay cut.Also THE STATE POLICE COMISSION WENT AGAINST the DIRECTOR> Transalation ::: There was NO mis conduct. You are being fed a bunch of hype and believeing half truths Print ALL THE FACTS m'am and I might believe you. Also I seriously doubt your last sentence. I do not recall the State Police shutting down even temporarilyover this.Oh and he still retired as a SGT YOU can't beat out facts or truth.

? If Pennington doesn't continue his actions of starting be programs and cleaning the county, what happens..

Ms. Ives, how do you feel about Mr. Ward being terminated for endangering the public?
It's that tidbit that makes me wonder why people are even bringing up reprimands.

The sheriff forfeited 33% of his retirement pension which does not translate to no wrongdoing. Nor does it change the fact that the director of the state police stated "there is overwhelming evidence that both your professional and personal conduct have brought discredit to this agency just as it has to yourself. This conduct has definitely impaired both the efficiency and operations of the Arkansas State Police..
