I don't care if anyone one of you has any problems with anyone at The Saline Courier (aka Benton Courier), myself included, we are all humans and I hope you can set aside any reason you have to be upset at us for just a moment.

I ask that you add Lynda Hollenback and her family to your prayers & prayer list. Unfortunately, her husband is close to leaving this world behind. I think the absolute world of Lynda and if you ever had the chance to either sit back and talk to her or even just watch her at work, she is a remarkable woman. Most people don't know half of how hard this woman works and she does it with very little complaint. I do hope to see her back at work soon, and was even told she stopped in and worked yesterday for a little bit just to get away for a few minutes. I don't want her back at work for selfish reasons, though yes, lets be honest, we've had big shoes to fill in her absence. I want her back here at work so I know she is ok. I know she loves being at work, I mean she really enjoys it. I know that when she gets back, whenever that may be, she will be safe and likely in a good mental place. It is her being at home alone that is going to worry the crap out of me.

Again, please keep her in your prayers. God Bless.

Despite any differences, political or otherwise, that I might have ever had with Lynda, I wish for her and her family only the greatest comfort from a loving God in this hour of her grief, and for healing to all who knew and loved Ed Hollenbeck.  And to you, Matt, for the pain you are feeling on her behalf as a true friend of hers, and as a man I very much respect for writing this blog post, I wish you only the best as well.  A whole community has circled around the Hollenbeck family -- part of which is on this earth and part of which is Somewhere Above.

God bless you one and all.

Matt, please keep us posted and let Linda know that she has many loyal readers praying for her and her family. Thanks for making us aware of this.

I had no idea.  Lynda has my prayers.  Having lost my wife 5 1/2 years ago, I know very specifically how to pray and will intercede for her, her husband, and their family and friends.

You got those prayers, dude.  Man, you are one smooth guy.  I know you're with the newspaper, and the lady has a good friend in you.  Pure class.  I can tell you're hurtin', man, and I'm real sorry for ya.  You done good, writing this stuff and I'm sure the lady will love you for it.  Hang in there.  With a lotta love around her, she's gonna get through this.  She sure is lucky to have a guy like you for a friend.  I do a lot of tumbling here, and there's a lot of rough dudes here who get after me like they do you, but this time you put a lump in my throat.  I hope some people are there to put an arm around you too, man, and give you some comfort too.  Stay strong, man.

ALL I asked is that people set aside their personal or professional issues and view something from a sensitive human stand point. Honestly Laura, I don't know if I should take offense to your post or not. I mean, what exactly are you saying with "Your post says more about you than you realize."

I don't know if this is the time or place to say that. I also asked someone else here if they would be offended and they feel the same as I do. I mean, really, this post is meant for people to say positive things and to show support for a woman and family about to deal with the loss of a loved one.

I love Lynda. She means the world to me. If anything, I hope that me posting on a board in which people regularly trash us - which is why I rarely ever come to this site (Sorry Shelli, as much as I like you as a human being, this is a true statement) - I hope that it reaches enough people to make a difference. I believe in the power of prayer and the more prayers there are for a cause, the stronger I believe it will help Lynda and her family.

I have beaucoup problems w the Benton Courier, but firstly, they're not personal issues, they are professional (and not w Lynda). And secondly, do decent, sensible, rational adults really want bad things to befall people they feel are misguided, gullible and/or ignorant? Your post says more about you than you realize.
