Re-Elect Alderman Brad Moore (Incumbent) * RUNOFF Election * Benton City Council * Ward 4/Position 1

Dear Friends –

Thank you so much for taking time from your busy schedules to vote on Election Day.  After the votes were counted, our team received the most votes (977 total votes - 44%).   We appreciate your efforts and are humbled by your support.

However, due to the fact that we received less than 50% of the total vote, there will be a RUNOFF ELECTION against our 2nd place opponent who finished with 31% of the total vote.  This will…

SECRETS REVEALED: The Largest Single Landowner near THE FAIRPLEX (dum... duh duh dum)

THE LARGEST COMMERCIAL LAND OWNER AT THE FAIRPLEX IS THE TAXPAYERS OF SALINE COUNTY! That is correct. The citizens of Saline County own strategic, prime commercial property to fronts I-30 on the service road. The Fairplex Master Plan has preserved this property for commercial development (hotel, restaurant and retail). The taxpayers can earn a hefty return on their real estate investments by offering these properties as economic development incentives (the same as the City of… Continue

Update on Hwy 5 from Salem Road to Springhill Road (Kenneth Ray)

During the Benton City Council meeting last night (July 26), I asked Mayor Holland what it would take to work with Metroplan to move forward with plans to upgrade Hwy 5 to Springhill Road (Benton's portion). My question was sparked by Mayor Holland's announcement that Metroplan had began their study of Hwy 5 to Hot Springs Village.

Mayor Holland said Hwy 5 north toward Bryant was very much on the radar screen and that he and Mayor Mitchell of Bryant (both are Metroplan board…

Dear Saline County ("Central Arkansas Fairplex")

Dear Citizens:

I am writing to introduce you to the proposed Central Arkansas Fairplex to be located at Watts Field (old Saline County Airport) off Interstate 30 at Exit 116. This proposal has been under development by the general public, grassroots community groups and the Benton Advertising & Promotion Commission for two years. The A&P Commission hired Gralla/GH2 Architects of Norman, OK to guide the City of Benton through… Continue

Central Arkansas Fairplex at Saline Crossing - Total Economic Impact @ 84 Months

Based on conservative economic impact/feasibility studies paid for by the Benton Advertising and Promotion Commission, the Central Arkansas Fairplex at Saline Crossing would create 800 jobs during the 18 month construction phase with an estimated average salary of $30,000 annually. Climate Science/Fed Govt. @ 1975: "Prepare For The Coming Ice Age"...

Environment

The Fiction Of Climate Science

Gary Sutton, 12.04.09, 10:00 AM EST

Why the climatologists get it wrong.

Many of you are too young to remember, but in 1975 our government pushed "the coming ice age."

Random House dutifully printed "THE WEATHER CONSPIRACY … coming of the New Ice Age." This may be the only book ever written by 18 authors. All 18 lived just a short sled ride from Washington, D.C. Newsweek fell in line and did a cover issue warning us… Continue

Letter To The Editor (Shady Lane & Military Road)

It is my recommendation to Mayor Holland and the Benton City Council to proceed with both [road] projects simultaneously -- South Shady Lane at $1.2 million and lower Military Road at $18 million. The city should combine its existing cash balances dedicated for streets/drainage and its monthly sales tax revenues with the federal stimulus funds from Metroplan to pay for both projects. Both projects will be completed without putting the city’s financial well-being at risk.

After these… Continue

(Edmunds.com) Taxpayers Pay $24,000 For Each Clunker * Program Stifles Sales

Clunkers: Taxpayers paid $24,000 per car

Auto sales analysts at Edmunds.com say the pricey program resulted in relatively few additional car sales.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- A total of 690,000 new vehicles were sold under the Cash for Clunkers program last summer, but only 125,000 of those were vehicles that would not have been sold anyway, according to an analysis released Wednesday by the automotive Web site Edmunds.com.

Still, auto sales contributed heavily… Continue
