The Ralph Bunche Neighborhood Association is providing free after-school tutoring assistance.
The Tutoring is provided at the Ralph Bunche Community Center, 1600 Dixie Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5 – 7 pm (when school is in session), to children/youth in the Benton School District (grades K-12).

Benton Panthers football just completed an undefeated regular season Thursday night, after a victory over the Pine Bluff Zebras in an end of the game clincher. Final score was 39-36. This means the Panthers finish as champs in the 6A South, with a record of 9-0-1 and gives them home field advantage in the playoffs, which start in a couple of weeks. Congrats, Benton Panthers!!

Seventeen young ladies will represent Bryant High School as maids on the 2014 Homecoming Court.

Fifth grade students recently completed a rigorous application process to become members of the inaugural CES School Senate. The group will have opportunities throughout the school year to practice leadership skills while participating in community service activities.

The State of Arkansas will hold its annual sales tax holiday, allowing shoppers the opportunity to purchase certain school supplies, school art supplies, achool Instructional materials, and clothing, free of state and local sales or use tax.
The tax holiday will last for two weekend days (48 hours)

I just came across this wonderful project for local children on donorschoose.org. Donors Choose allows the site visitor to pick a charity that has been posted and give to it as it fits for them.
