Making Springhill Elementary a "Bucket-Filling" School

I just came across this wonderful project for local children on donorschoose.org. Donors Choose allows the site visitor to pick a charity that has been posted and give to it as it fits for them.

This project, called "Bucket-Filling," teaches children about building character and a feeling of worth by helping others. For me, this sounds like one excellent way to prevent bullying before it starts. You can…

Are you running for school board?

Many of us have figured out in the past few years just how powerful a school board can be. It's not like the Booster Club or the Parent Teacher Organization where they raise a little money and maybe spend it on a little project. Nope, these folks have the decision of where to spend millions of dollars. Benton and Bryant school districts are both adding onto to their high schools as we speak.…

How Could My Son Do This To Me?

That's it. He's done with high school and he's moving on. The following videos are Ian pretending his diploma had nothing on it, Ian pretending he knows his high school alma mater song, and Ian with family right after the graduation ceremony. We were so proud, and luckily, we were too bored during the ceremony to burst into tears.…

Give people a chance to talk in this video, since it is audience comment and questions and a bit disorganized, but what they have to say is important and at times scary. As an outsider, I had several questions myself. Let me get this video posted and I'll come back with some… Continue
