Haskell Boil Order for Certain Residents Has Been Lifted by the Health Department

Thursday night, June 30th, 2016, the City of Bryant hosted an open house event for residents at their Fire Station #3 on Justus Loop. City of Benton Says Fireworks OK During These Times, With These 3 Guidelines

The days of which fireworks can be displayed by the public has been extended this year due to a resolution passed by the Benton City Council. Detour Set Up Monday on Part of Boone Road Due to Improve Project

The City of Bryant Street Department says they will be closing Boone Road from Tanglewood to Lea Circle on Monday 6/27/16 at 7:30 am. Residents that live on Boone Road in this area will have access through the closure. All other through traffic will be stopped and turned around. Detour signs will be posted.

Haskell Mayor Just Appointed a New Police Chief

According to a reliable source, Haskell Police has shifted command. I called Haskell Mayor Janie Lyman for a comment. She confirmed what I heard - that long-time officer Michael Hardester has been appointed as the new Police Chief. Lyman stated that Hardester has worked as a patrol officer for the City of Haskell for many years, and was the lieutenant for the last 18 months.

Benton Council to Meet on Surplus, Finance, Fireworks, Scoreboard, more - June 27th

The Benton City Council will meet at 6:15 P.M., Monday, June 27, 2016, in the Mayor’s Conference Room at the Benton Municipal Complex.  

There will be a presentation of the 2015 audited financials by Yoakum & Lovell at 6:15 P.M., followed by the agenda meeting at 6:30 P.M. and the Benton City Council meeting at 7:00 P.M. in Council Chambers.
