When an accident like Exxon-Mobil's oil spill in Mayflower happens, you expect some environmentalists to come to get their own eyeballs on how the situation is handled by the responsible party. I was delighted about who I did see while I was in Mayflower today, looking for photos. This guy is an environmentalist for sure, but he's also a megafamous rock star. Here's…Continue
Bryant Police Chief Mark Kizer is the subject of discussion in a personnel inquiry after political wannabe James Ward objected to his appearance on a local talk radio show.
Kizer was a guest on the radio show "Singles and Exes," a show about relationships and dating when you're not exactly age 20 anymore. MySaline founder Shelli Russell and longtime friend, Tanya Smith co-host the show Saturdays at 10pm on…

Let's see if I can boil this down to simplest terms. MySaline is at a point in its workout where the body is telling it not to do one more push-up, but the mental end of the situation knows that this is the point where we're this close to success if we can just get over this hill. If that sounds as muddy as mud, I'll spray some Windex on it.
MySaline has some parties interested in buying the website. I'm the owner and founder and I have been in a spot for some time where I know I…

Last week, I had the honor of interviewing Sam Calvin Brown of Benton. He is a first-time fiction author at age 27. The Last Baby Angel is about a teenage girl who looks back at her childhood, having been raised by a father escaping his life in the dangerously addictive culture of crystal meth. …Continue
You've probably seen the tents going up around town. It's coming up on fireworks time! Yep! Celebrating our freedom in the United States of America! People run down this country, but I'd still pick it over any place else! No, we're not perfect, but that won't keep us from saluting this great country by indulging our natural desire to blow stuff…Continue
I'm headed to the beach shortly, and I wondered what everyone else has done or has planned for their fun time this summer.
Lots of folks head for water or maybe a theme park or camping. Did you see family or go out of the country or try something you never have? What about the food?…Continue

This is the [very edited] transcript from the Monday night (3/26) Chat regardingthis post with the killer diller call to action in a poem: …
This thing called MySaline has grown
and still grows to points unknown.
I need a dedicated crew to
get done what we must do.
If each person takes a
small piece to run with,
MySaline will quickly become much more
than just the idea we've begun with.
What I need here is a
trove of ambassadors
And two or three or four
Services - that is - "at your."
If you can at least somewhat
see the vision I see,
You know MySaline…
I experienced my last day on the job yesterday at a state agency where I had been employed for nearly 10 years. It was a good job with a good boss and good co-workers. People think I'm nuts for leaving. They're right. I'm nuts about the community of Saline County and the people in it that I've grown to love. I've lived in Saline only slightly longer than I had that job, but because of the depth of my affection for it, many mistake me for a lifer. I left my "real…Continue
Occasionally, I ask for folks who do so enjoy MySaline.com to kindly consider making a small donation on a regular basis. If each person who comes to MySaline daily would give just $2.00 per month, that would go a long way toward fees, upkeep and promotion of this here water cooler where we chat.
I'm desperately trying to avoid going to a pay model, where all you see is the front page unless you do pay the…Continue
