To All of My Fans,
In a couple of days I will be embarking on a mission that will be challenging both physically and mentally. My goal for this year is to participate in a sprint triathlon. I will swim 800 yards, bike 11 miles, and run for another 3.5 miles. This is an endurance event and will require help from others.
I have put out feelers for training partners in various areas/forums and the general response is that I must be crazy to be doing this. I say, "Don't hate -… Continue

At work we use internet explorer....when I would try to access mysaline.com it had errors and the page and would lock up. I figure it's just because of some kind of a firewall or one of them other high tech dealies and just gave up....
When I joined the mysaline group I was using firefox as my source for internet usage (at home) and I never had any problems navigating around the mysaline site. Recently I decided to start using internet explorer at home too. I tried to… Continue

So one thing lead to another and this busy and very crazy month is coming to an end. It has been a while since I was able to get on mysaline and hang out with all these wild and crazy folks and I have spent the last hour or so reading through all the blog posts I missed out on.
I just wanted to take a minute to let everyone know how great it is to be able to come into this web site and converse with you all. I have never physically met many of you but I feel like I know you guys so… Continue

I had the TV to myself for maybe 10hrs, but at around 0300 Saturday morning, they wheeled in a new patient and I'm not certain she's not one of my previous patients. And though I thought this might finally be my ticket to a private room--no such luck. She's a moaner and grunter, who I suspect will be med-seeking. So maybe she'll be knocked out most of the time. But this time, I was here first, so I'm controlling the TV for now. Oh, and I'M THE INSOMNIAC--so she may be asking for me to be… Continue

Monday night at work my wheezing got a little worse and I started barking like a -- dog, seal, pick your animal here. This is despite doing my breathing treatments and having been on the third round of antibiotics in the last month--overall, behaving. So, on the threats of my co-workers, I called my pulmonologist when I got off work Wednesday morning to see what he wanted to do. While waiting for a call back, the lack of oxygen to my brain and, I'm sure other vital… Continue

You are invited to the unveiling of the Tribute Hummer for Deborah Getz, mother of fallen Army Ranger, Kristofer Thomas. The event will be at Landers Hummer TONIGHT, December 21, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. This Gold Star mom commissioned airbrush artist, Robert Powell to create a tribute to the soldiers killed on February 17, 2007 when their Chinook helicopter crashed.

McAlister's is coming soon... I finally figured out where. This location is on the flipside of the AT&T store at Alcoa Exchange. According to Renee, they have the "bestest sweet tea ever."
Is this really news? I just wanted everyone to know how cool the berries are on the bushes in the Starbucks drive-thru at Alcoa Exchange.
It took me a while, but… Continue

It is really time for me to have a personal rant! I stayed home 3 days from work last week after my son brought home some funky germs. Thought I got rid of it, so I went back to work and then I woke up Saturday and couldn't make a peep. My ears had been sore and the ouchies traveled (through a great deal from Expedia or Priceline, no doubt) to my throat. So my family was probably happy on Saturday, but my thumbs also became sore from snapping to get people's attention. Sunday I stayed asleep to… Continue

Well, I've seen something new. I had a patient this week come to the nurses' station and ask for his tobacco and his Bible. Okay--so he was gonna go smoke and take in a lil scripture--no problem. But NO!!! He wanted the Bible so that he could tear pages out of it and use them to roll cigarettes with his loose tobacco!! Of course, he has patient rights and I couldn't refuse to give him his Bible...how crazy is that? Some of these patients never cease to amaze me.
We also had a 70yo man… Continue

I can hardly beleive it's Friday already. I've been busy at work - not with work work, of course.
My son and I have been making dog bone shaped Christmas tree ornaments. On Monday I brought my toaster oven to work expecting to spend my lunch hour rolling out salt dough and baking the shapes. Well, there was very little work to do so I spent the whole day baking. Tuesday and Wednesday, it was the same song, just the next verse.
So, why in the… Continue

So, it's Christmas season and everyone attends all those concerts, recitals, parades, etc.
This weekend I traveled to J-boro where the kids are now college students. We feasted and enjoyed the Madrigal Feast at ASU Saturday night, and Sunday my folks drove up and we enjoyed the music department's Christmas Extravaganza. (both the kids are in the band program - it's paying their way through college)
On a whim this morning I got a wild hair and made plans to travel back… Continue
